  1. Hello,

Up for sale; My Warwick Dolphin Pro 1 in a black finish. Although the date is not visible due to the finish on the neck, I believe it to be 1988 due to it's various appointments. I believe the bass to be an early example of work from the Warwick custom shop.

This bass has received some considerable use over the years, there is evidence of general wear and tear throughout, mainly light scratching on the rear of the body, despite this, no scratching has penetrated the finish and due to the deep black colour, such is difficult to notice. I would still describe it's condition as good.

This bass would benefit from a setup although currently plays well. I am including the hard shell case in the photgraph (the strap is not included).

I encourage any questions or people who would wish to view/play this bass. This bass is currently located in the Portsmouth area.

I am asking for £850 ono. (No trade offers please)

I can be contacted on 07835184478.

    Kind Regards,

    Graeme

  2. Hello,

Here's the blurb for this amp......

The PRO TUBE IV delivers 400 earth-shaking watts of power. Channel 1, has a unique two tube preamp featuring a 12AX7 paired with an EL84 power tube. The power amp is switch selectable from just the 12AX7 or the 12AX7 PLUS the EL84 for that unmistakable power tube distortion. The Crunch control takes you from ultra-clean maximum headroom to a juicy tube overdrive. A group of three position switches shape the low, mid, and high characteristics of the sound. A contour switch applies a Warwick voiced, "smile" curve. The second channel of the PRO TUBE IV amp head is all solid state with a switchable limiter and a graphic EQ
    • Dual channel amp head, 400 watts RMS into 4 ohms, MOSFET, 19", 2U. Extremely low-noise input section with gain control.
    • Channel 1: dual tube preamp with 3-way switches for low, mid and high boost/flat/cut; parametric tone filter sets frequency for mid boost/cut and high cut.
    • Crunch control sets input gain for tube section.
    • 2nd stage switch selects between tube preamp and all-tube amp sounds by switching the power tube on and off.
    • Channel 2: solid-state with switches for low and high boost, 8-band graphic EQ.
    • Switchable limiter.
    • Rear panel: groundlift switch, tuner out, stereo effects loop, line outs L/R (post master), footswitch channel select, DI outs L/R with pre/post switch.
    • Speaker out: 1 XLR, 1 high current Speakon connector.
    • Weight: 33 lbs. / 15 kg
    • Depth: 16.93 in. / 430 mm

The amp is flight-cased and I will also throw in a high quality neutrik speaker connector that you need to use with this amp.

£250 is a good price for an amp of this quality and spec, Gator Flight case included in the price.

I would ideally prefer collection from the Portsmouth area as this is really quite heavy.

Give me a call on 07835184478 if you have any enquiries.

    Kind regards,

    Graeme

I love that scalloped back to the head stock.

'JD' stands for John Davis, one of the first bass players to endorse the Thumb bass. I have a picture of him somewhere... Don't really know anything else about him.

  4. Hey Guys,

I'm selling my beloved '87 JD Thumb, I have been playing my Dolphin almost exclusively for the past year and it's a shame that the Thumb is not getting played, hence the sale.

The bass had a complete re-fret in 2006 with Warwick bell brass frets and is therefore playing brilliantly. The bass is in great condition, no scratches or dings anywhere. A great collectors item and a players dream.

Fitted with original Bartolini Pick-ups and the original schaller single piece bridge. These JD Thumbs are fairly rare.

I would highly recommend that any interested parties come and view the bass in person before buying.

I'm looking to achieve around the £900 mark, however may be open to offers and trades.

  5. Hello,

I'm selling my Double bass that I have owned for about 12 months, I thought I would try my hand at it but I just don't have the time for it, and the student loan repayments have kicked in! hence the sale.

She is an old, dusty 3/4 size double bass that is in need of a new set of strings and a setup probably. There are no markings anywhere on it to suggest a maker or date. The previous owner told me that his dad had owned this and he must have been about 45-50 ish so this has gotta be at least 65 years old The previous owner also told me that it had a professional repair done on the neck at some point, this does not affect playability and the instrument is totally solid.

I am selling this for £350. There is no way I can send this to anybody so collection is a must.

Please call me on 07835184478 if you are interested. I am based in Gosport, near Portsmouth on the South Coast.
