  1. I have four MIM basses and happy with all of them. I have changed the bridges and pickups, but that was a personal taste thing rather than a necessity. You should try before buying, but would suggest that is the case with any instrument.

  2. After reading a Bass Player pickup shoot up, I plumped for the Seymour Duncan Hot pickups, as they said they were slightly hotter than standard but still sounded like a Jazz bass should. I have since installed them on all of my Jazz basses I liked them so much!

The same review highly rated the Antiquity pickups as well, especially for a fretless.

  3. 3 Jazz basses (one main bass, one backup, one 'cos it is really pretty!)
1 Precision bass (just because you should!)
1 acoustic bass (for those quieter moments!)

Might get one more down the line, but fortunately GAS free at the moment!

  4. Bought a set of pickups from Barrie, great communications, answered all questions. They arrived promptly and well packaged and sound great!

    Many thanks!

  5. One of our guitarists has used one for years and it has always sounded perfectly good to me, in fact an improvement over the Dunlop he had before that crackled and popped all the time.

  6. MIM fenders are a mixed bag and always have been and I own four!. Some are fantastic and some are awful. If you can, you really should to try it out before buying it. The issue on the bad ones I have tried tend to be gaps around the neck joint and poor fret ends.
