1. Here I have a Schecter Stiletto 8 string bass, everyone's probably more than familiar with the concept but for those who aren't these are effectively 4 string basses with an extra octave string ( much like a 12 string guitar ). I don't see a lot of these about and was after one for years but it doesn't really see a lot of use in my current band. Condition is 8.5/10, a few minor scratches but nothing particularly visible. Ideally after cash but may entertain trades for certain things ( G+L, Sandberg or a decent jazz, prepared to add cash for the right bass but try me with anything ) Based in Newcastle but can drop off in a 2 hour radius if buyer covers petrol, otherwise happy to arrange a courier. Apologies if I missed anything! Cheers

3.
A LMIII and a 2X10 Traveller cab was my rig for around 4 years. I bought these with a 115 T cab but sold it as I did not need the extra power and the 210 cab was easier to pack!. Found it fine with various 5 stringers. Light, powerful and never needed to go over 12 oclock on the volume. Think the Blackline is less watts and is more a budget purchase. As you can see below I currently run a TTE500 and RJ 15" cab.....
Heard lots of good things about the little mark 3 but aside from volume do you think there's much of a gap in sound quality between that and the blackline?volume isn't so important at the moment.
4. Just looking for a bit of advice here since I'm diving headfirst into the world of amps and thought I'd do a bit of research first. I've recently joined a club band who gig 2-3 times a weekend and up to now I've been DIing the bass which works well enough but I'd like to get a proper amp thrown into the mix to improve the overall sound of the band. I've been having a browse around Thomann and discovered a markbass little mark 3 and a markbass black like 250, there's a pretty big gap in price between the two and I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with either? Is the little mark 3 a more stable purchase even with the higher price tag? Secondly I've been looking to pick up a cab and 2x10's and 4x10's are the two main options, volume isn't really a problem since the amp will be running through the monitors but I'm thinking a louder cab might be helpful later down the line if I join a band where I maybe need the volume more? price isn't really an issue for either, I'm just looking to get the best gear possible without spending any unnecessary cash Thanks for your help!
5. Unfortunately not mate, I traded this away a month or so ago
6. Still up for sale, will consider any reasonable offers
7. Bump, forgot to mention the schaller tuners this has on
8. Bump Would also possibly do a trade for a ric+ hefty sum your way
9. May do a trade for a decent 5 string if something takes my eye, but cash would still be preferred
10. Aye its a beauty for sure. Forgot to add that i'll put a new set of strings/clean the bass etc f I get a sale.
11. I got this off Jezzaboy a few months back, and whilst I love the tone and look of it, it wasn't getting much play as i'm much more of a Fender guy I got this for £440, and it was in near perfect nick back then and nothing's changed, so I'd ideally be looking for that back, or offers very close, comes with a sterling soft case, and all the stickers etc that came with the bass. Also has Schaller tuners installed, Price reduction, £410, still open to trades or ideally for a ricky ( lots of cash your way too ) http://s1353.beta.ph...MG5231.jpg.html Collection would be preferred but I can meet anyone genereally in the North-east area or a courier if needs be. Cheers Now sold, Cheers for the interest
12. My second purchase over here, wasn't dissapointed at all, Gerry gave me a great price for a great instrument ( Musicman ray 34 ) was in brilliant condition too, very smooth transaction. Great guy to do business with,

15.
Hi, Yes all is possible. I did the same as you apart from i stuck a US P Bass neck onto a Squier P Bass body. I got some pickups from the US and an old wiring kit. I also bought some nice Fender machine heads. Took about 3 weeks to get all the bits together and a summers evening to assemble the monster. I used it live and in the studio then GAS'd for another bass so took it all apart and sold the Squier with the Squier neck. I still have the US PuPs and the wiring kit. I sold the neck to another Basschatter. I learnt quite a lot about bass construction, soldering, wiring etc which was the object of the exercise. I also learnt that i was sh*t at soldering You have to keep in mind that to anyone else this Frankenstein bass will have little monetary value so be prepared to shell out and not recoup your investment. Total cost for the build was £350. Looked like this:
This seems like the path for me, Although I probably wouldn't trust myself with a soldering iron, but what better time to learn eh, I think the problem is, I can't really try it out beforehand, so If all goes to sh*t, then that's 300-400 quid to pot, yours seems to have turned out pretty well anyway, how did it compare to a mex standard? how did the pickups fare up?
16. Well not so much a backup, probably the wrong expression, call it just another bass to play around on, i've used the same bass for a while now, some variety's nice. I used to own a vm Squier a while back, whilst noticably better than my first squier, it's not as good as my mex fender, which is only to be expected as it's less than half the price, although I have heard of some VM Squiers that are better than other mex fenders. Some of the bodies look gorgeous, and the price isn't too bad, shame about the P+P mind but I guess it's not too much to fork out, I'd probably like to spend under 500, the cheaper the better really.
17. Not had the best experience with squiers, I know they really vary quality-wise, are the P bass specials decent?
18. This question might seem pretty obvious or basic to some of you, but i've never really looked into the gear side of things so here goes, I've been looking for a backup bass for my jazz and after playing around with some p basses, decided that would be the right path to choose, however, I really can't stand the necks, so i'm wondering, is it possible to stick a jazz neck on a precision body? If so what would be the cheapest way to do this with the best sounding results, I was thinking putting a fender neck on a squier body with some new Pickups in, but that's just a shot in the dark, some advice would be much appreciated! Cheers
19. If only I could find a decent musicman/sterling in that price bracket ( 500/600 )....
20. As a fairly recent starter in slap bass ( only the last year or so ) I've been learning all the typical stuff, Chilis, Primus, Level 42 etc Pretty much straight away I noticed something, guys like Flea/TM Stevens/Rob Trujillo seem to attack the strings from above the bass ( hand dangles over the bass ) whereas Claypool, King, Graham, and other more traditional slappers seem to angle the thumb parallel to the strings. Whilst i've thought about learning both ways i've gravitated towards the more traditional approach as I find it makes left hand slaps, muting, double-thumbing all a lot easier, the negative of this being my bass is essentially a few inches under my chin which feels a little uncomfortable. Just wondering what everyone's opinions on the matter are, which is better, etc...
