    CMD 121H IV

    Product code: MBC105052Z

This is a more “hi-fi” alternative to the Mini CMD 121P combo, thanks to its larger size and 1” compression driver and custom horn.
This new version with Little Mark IV Combo head features the new bi-band limiter, a MUTE switch and the 3-way switch that includes the options of Flat, Scooped or FSW. Easily upgrades to a 500W rig with the addition of a New York 121 or Traveler 121H cabinet. Designed for bass players who need power, portability and top performance!

    > HIGH-FIDELITY SOUND
The CMD 121H IV produces a more “high-fidelity” sound than most CMD combos—its slightly larger size gives it a fuller bottom end, its 1” compression driver and custom horn give it a clear, naturalsounding high end, and the 12” woofer delivers detailed, warm low and mids.

    > UPDATED 4 BAND EQ, OLD SCHOOL FILTER, 3 WAY SWITCH
Our updated 4 band EQ section features very effective controls allowing you to easily find the sound you want, boosting or cutting up to 16dB for each of the 4 bands to cover all the tonal nuances needed in any genre of music. Additionally the Old School filter cuts your high frequencies and gives a round and smooth tone. The 3 way rotary-switch allows you to choose between a super-balanced flat tone, a scooped preset that drops the mids while boosting the lows and highs - giving a superb slap sound, or lastly the 'FSW' option to control both mute and the Scooped EQ on demand by connecting an optional dual footswitch.

    > BI-BAND LIMITER
Our new bi-band limiter responds faster and more dynamically to your playing than traditional limiters do and lets your high end "breathe" for a more natural sound. It makes our amp heads the best choice for anyone who enjoys a quick, punchy attack at high volumes.

    > HEADROOM, HEIGHT AND FRONT-LOADED HEAD
The slightly larger size of the combo contributes to its excellent headroom and full bottom end, making it effective as a standalone unit. Its height makes it easy to hear on-stage, and the front-loaded head is easy to see and adjust during performance.

The New York 604 was one of most requested cabinets in the world for its compact design, awesome definition and exceptional bass frequency reproduction. This powerful cube now has a big brother: the New York 804. The four 8” custom speakers were designed specially for this cabinet, and bring this cab closer in sound to larger 4x10” cabinets, but in a much more compact enclosure!

  6. Thanks for this. There is so little info about these other than standard marketing blurb. Watched Anderson vids which are great ,but everything is always viewed as great when you’re selling it.If it’s not to much trouble could you pm  me your thoughts when used in a gig situation . No probs if this is an issue. Appreciate you posting.

  7. I’m having a real hard time getting real world live reviews on the Laney Digbeth up right 410 cab 600watt 4ohm. Has anyone used one of these in a back line only no Pa support situation. Also comparison to Markbass 410 /Gallien Kruger etc.Hope this is the correct section. Thanks in advance.

  8. Once bought a H/H 115 bass combo back in late 70s as I was so impressed with the sound achieved by a local bass player using same amp but 2x15.The combo was the latest incarnation of the range. It was the biggest pile of plop put together under the heading of musical equipment.Incapable of any volume or usable tone.Needles to say don’t think I ever saw another one being used by anyone.

  9. Just done a deal / trade with a local lad Skezza for some Markbass kit. Great coms.Pleasant little chat. Plus he has the lightest bass I have ever picked up. Nice guy to deal with.Totally recommended.

  10. For me I made it,get to play music I like with band mates that are friends. We also get paid for doing something we enjoy without to much hassle.I’ve a very contented home life with a wonderful wife of 35 yrs and son I’m very proud of.With experience of making a living from something else I had great interest in and growing to hate it in later life. I am great full that I still get exited to day as much as I did when I first started many years ago. I suspect a lot of the (stars) today have lost that feeling . The ones that have truly made it are the ones who still love what they do having been very successful and also have a great home life. This industry can give great rewards and fame but also be one of the cruelest mistresses or what ever the correct pro noun is these days.

I've heard of bands simply putting a cloth or material of some sort over the mic /sensor for the Decibel meter and that's enough to dampen its response.

I have heard of the sockets that aren't covered by the trip circuit too.

Guess we either don't play that loud or venues have them switched off for us ?

    Dave

We would have done that if we could have found the mic .We are mainly a Soul outfit and are really not that loud. But we do like to have a quality sound with depth to it which appears to send the last two meters into a frenzy.Play a skinny sound that grates on everyone’s ears at massive volume levels no probs.Just putting it down to another experience as we know the next gig will be a belter.

  12. Last two gigs have been wrecked by decibel meter. Now before I am berated by comments of turn down then. These things were set at ridiculously low levels. The disco with poor low end as usual played at a volume that could wake the dead.We produce a quality full sound at a very low volume and trip the meter. It’s been a long time since we had this happen even in venues that have decibel meters in.Even after speaking to the agent after the gig he mentioned the problems artists playing in these venues are complaining that it is becoming really difficult to do there shows. His option is to put in a single act with backing. He then tells me the venues want bands with drums but the meters will not accommodate them.I have been playing for more years than I wish to admit to and played through 70s 80s when meters were everywhere and had no issue. We have now decided not to play anymore of these venues without the option to bypass or adjust the level. If we are not required to play at these places then so be it.We will always accommodate volume  requests levels but sound quality to suite a decibel meter is non negotiable. The shows were very well received and we even got apologies from some of the audience on having our show wrecked by these meters.
