1. i´m looking for 500 euros, but in your case 450 would be o.k.
  2. Hi There! I´m selling my Yamaha BB300. It has been professionally modified and is a KILLER bass now! here is the whole story about the bass: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=0#entry1146594 when I modded this bass, my intention was to have a fusion of a Stingray and a P-Bass. I think I nailed It! the BB300 is a really great bass for it´s own! a REALLY nice p-bass! The maple neck also has a super beautiful grain, a bit "birdseye"-like. the p-pickup is reversed as you can see in the pics, and the E/A section is in the original spot where Leo put it in the old days ;-) the D/G section is closer to the neck (which sound absolutely great!), because it would have crossed with the MM-pickup. the MM pickup is in the original "sweetspot" too. it has an active "NOLL" 2band eq (awesome german manufactor) and a push/pull Volume knob. there are two 3-position switches. the first one selects the pickups (neck only, neck and bridge, bridge only) the second one selects the mode of the MM-humbucker (parallel, singlecoil, series) with this switching you get 7 different sounds, which are all very usefull! here is a list of the modifications I have done: -replaced the old tuners with SANDBERG tuners. -replaced the bridge with a SANDBERG bridge. -put the original yamaha P-pickup in new shells -put a DELANO MM ALNICO humbucker in it (MC4) -added a NOLL EQ (treble and bass) -the input jack moved to the side -a batterycompartment was installed -added a hipshot stringtree -made a custom shaped pickguard (inspired by the stingray 5) -routing, shielding etc. I´m looking for 410,- pounds. the bass is located in Germany, but of course I can ship it to the U.K. for a reasonable price. contact: [email protected]
  3. hey there! I bought an absolutely awesome Afterburner on ebay last year. I call it AB Custom because it not an AB I and not an AB II. Sheldon Dingwall told me that the bass was built for one of his employees, while he was waiting for his prima artist. He selected the nicest woods they had in stock. The Features: 4-string hipshot hardware with d-tuner Maple Neck Wenge Fingerboard AWESOME!!! Walnut Body clear gloss finish AAAAA- Flamed maple top Aguilar OBP-1 (the 2-band EQ) blue-eq FD-1 Pickups when I bought the bass, I was afraid, that the sound of the old FD-1 pickups (today they have different pickups: the FD-3) could be scooped in the mids. I didn´t wanted a scooped, clean and hifi sounding pickup. I´m a P-guy and love that mid-growl of a P-bass. I heard, that the FD-1 should sounfd more scooped and hifi, BUT when I played the bass the first time, I noticed that the pickups where just PERFECT! all the mid growl was there (especially on the neck pickup) and the pickups felt hotter than those in my AB II. So, I really have to say: I Iove that bass, I love that Pickups and I´m totally confused why they sound completely different to their description :?: BUT HEY! they sound awesome to me, so I´m happy! I play the neck pickup soloed most of the time. this is what you hear in the video. The bass is tuned C-G-C-F (from low to high). OOOH, and the video will prove that a dingwall is an excellent bass for Metal/Punk  so here are some pics + the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL542LcQL1g
  4. I just ordered the Noll-eq! this bass will go from "Hulk" to "Godzilla" =)
  5.
I love this! Get an EQ in it, just to see what happens. I bet it will rock even more!
Yeah! I think so, too... I´m saving some money for a NOLL-EQ right now. NOLL is a german company that makes very high quality eq´s (just like Glockenklang, but less HIFI) for a very reasonable price. the center frequencies are 4khz for the treble knob and 80hz for the bass knob. I think these frequencies will fit the stingray sound very well! If I really built that eq in my Pingray, I will do a little review here. the preamp also has a active/passiv switch, which is very nice because in this way I can also have that classic precision sound on the neckpickup in passive.
  6.
Ah i see that now from the photo, i thought it would be the California bridge but its not. Doh!
It is the california bridge. but the californias are not string through body
  7.
"Cheers, I will be adding one of these to my jazz project with thru stringing"
maybe I got you wrong, but there is no "string through body" option on the sandberg bridge.
  8. yes the sandberg hardware is very good, even more when you consider the pricing. there is better hardware out there for sure, but the sandberg hardware is REALLY good for the price. I´ll play the bass on rehearsal on monday. after that I will have a think about an eq. I already know which one I would take, but don´t know, if I really need one
  9. OHH! the samples are played straight into the "line in" of my Imac. so no eq etc. just the "pure" signal.
  10.
When you make a reply there is a header on the left-hand side (under the smilies) that says "Attachment Editor". Use it to browse to your file on you computer. Don't make the file too big or it won't be allowed.
here whe go! the sounds are: bridge - parallel bridge - singlecoil bridge - series neck - series neck series + bridge parallel neck series + bridge singlecoil neck series + bridge series I play mostly pick style and I wanted to make a quick comparison, so no fingering and slapping
  11.
We can just add an mp3 as an attachment in this thread - I've been meaning to do a sound file for ages.
where can I attach it exactly?
  12. thank you all for these nice comments! yeah, I´m very happy how the bass turned out I could make a soundfile of course (@Ou7shined: would you make one, too?)... I have no idea where to upload it. any ideas about a site where I can upload it for a direct stream?
  13.
That's fantastic work you've done there Stefan.
thank you very much for your comment! It´s really nice when the "master of extreme Mods" likes it!
You should paint the headstock black to match the body. It would finish the bass off perfectly.
unfortunately, I´m not able to paint it black by myself It would be also too expensive to give it to a professional... I think the eq is more important, so I´ll save the money for that ;-)
  14. Hi There! this is my first thread in this forum (my other post where in the "gear for sale" thread only...). at first I really have something to say about this forum: I like it FAR better than all our german bass forums. the people I met here are far nicer and VERY friendly and helpful. I was treaten with respect everytime I had a question and I really appreciate this forum! Back to topic! I bought an old Yamaha bb300 last year. I had the plan to modify it to have a mix of stingray and a P-bass. my idea was inspired by this great thread: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=pingray the BB300 is a really great bass for it´s own! a REALLY nice p-bass! The maple neck also has a super beautiful grain, a bit "birdseye"-like. I have a stingray HH and a real nice P-bass, too. so I can make a good comparison to the "originals". what I did: replaced the old tuners with SANDBERG tuners. replaced the bridge with a SANDBERG bridge. put the original yamaha P-pickup in new shells put a DELANO MM ALNICO humbucker in it (MC4) added a NOLL EQ (treble and bass) the input jack moved to the side a batterycompartment was installed added a hipshot stringtree made a custom shaped pickguard (inspired by the stingray 5) routing, shielding etc. the p-pickup is reversed as you can see in the pics, and the E/A section is in the original spot where Leo put it in the old days ;-) the D/G section is closer to the neck (which sound absolutely great!), because it would have crossed with the MM-pickup. the MM pickup is in the original "sweetspot" too. it has an active "NOLL" 2band eq (awesome german manufactor) and a push/pull Volume knob. there are two 3-position switches. the first one selects the pickups (neck only, neck and bridge, bridge only) the second one selects the mode of the MM-humbucker (parallel, singlecoil, series) with this switching you get 7 different sounds, which are all very usefull! It´s tuned B-E-A-D. right now, I´m very happy with my Pingray! it plays great, it sounds great and looks really nice (for my taste ;-) thanks for looking at my first post! excuse my bad English.. I have not enough practice in writing and speaking it. here are the pics: this is the bass at original specs: this is the bass in the works and this is the final result: SOUNDFILE ADDED! the sounds are: bridge - parallel bridge - singlecoil bridge - series neck - series neck series + bridge parallel neck series + bridge singlecoil neck series + bridge series I EDITED THIS FIRST POST SINCE I´M SELLING THE BASS. I WANTED TO HAVE ALL THE MODIFICATIONs MENTIONED IN THE FIRST POST.
  15.
Gibson should hire them back, they could show them where they are going wrong with their awful looking abominations, this is stunning.
Oh Yeah! I think this bass has FAR more style and taste than everything Gibson created in the past 20 years. And it just feels so solid and the hardware is absolutely top notch! I think it´s nearly impossible to find a Delgada Bass in Europe! go for it!
  16.
I really wanted one of these a few years ago. A real shame i do not have the money now.
you just have to sell your car
