I didn't see it last week for £300, but the point is a price increase of 16.6% in one week sounds like hyperinflation to me, regardless of how good an amp Alfie thinks it is.

It's not a bad amp by any means, but it's not up there with hard-wired, point to point amps with heavyweight transformers. Judging by the chorus of voices proclaiming it as the bargain of the year at £350, all I can say is, why don't you buy it then?

Is this amp still available? Have you got all the original packaging and documentation for posting? Is there an authentication certificate with the amp? Do you know what valves went into it?

I think I'm right in saying that the preamp contains one valve and the power amp is solid state. Can you confirm please? Is everything working well on the amp? Does this one have the front panel that clips off?

I was put onto this cab a few days ago by a member of this forum and see that this cab is getting a lot of praise. The compact and vintage probably appeal to valve users and 'traditionalists' with the silver grille cloth. The paint-on textured finish doesn't seem to make sense, though. Why not offer a tolex version with high quality grille cloth, perhaps in two or three shades (a la Mesa) to look the part sitting there underneath a good valve amp. Just a thought...

I don't suppose you've still got these picks, have you? It's been a while since you wrote this.

These 12" drivers lack the full, rich warmth and depth that you get with a 15" or 18". You can't cheat physics, unfortunately. I suppose the electronics attempt to compensate, though. How good is this amp when you try to emulate the richness and depth of a valve-driven large speaker bass amp?
