Spotted a new Reel for the Sting 3.0 Tour on Instagram. The new bass still hard to make out with the fast editing.

I had the VR micro stack and regret moving it on. This looks just as sweet though. 😎

I had two custom made pickguards made for my lefty Squier 32" Scale mij p bass. Fantastic workmanship and great to deal with. They even made a wood template of my guard so I don't have to resend mine if want any further orders. Would absolutely recommend.

Sweet. Can you still get the teacup controls that were on these basses originally? 😎

For someone with a dedicated rehearsal room or performance space this ticks all the boxes.

These are lovely to play. I tried a few in the range when they first came out but being a lefty i prefer symmetrical basses if I'm flipping them upside down. Did borrow one with flats for recording a couple times. 😎

If I were rich I would snap this up even just to have on display as a wonderful piece of bass history.

This paired with a Fender 500 head would be so sweet. 😎

Again another blurry image of the headstock. Can't see a Fender decal in this one so maybe a one-off by a luthier?

Saw a little trailer for the upcoming Sting 3.0 tour and grabbed a screenshot showing Sting using what looks like a new custom Fender. I'm not familiar with him playing this before as usually been his beat up '54 P for years now. This one doesn't look like a vintage P with humbucker but something maybe made to order. I'll leave it to the Fender experts to fill in the details. 😄

Very nice 😎. Liking the side carry handles.

I played one of these when they came out and absolutely loved it. I'm a lefty and flipped it upside down. I decided I wanted something more practical for access to the top end of the neck but was seriously tempted to buy as a studio bass.

Friend of mine has the six string guitar version and says it's fantastic.

I also had one of these without the graphic. 😎 Used it for years at gigs and rehearsals. Mega loud but heavy to move around. Love the sound of Acoustic gear.

Rare has hen's teeth. Doesn't look too shabby. A wee visit to a good luthier and this could be a real winner.

Would love to come across a leftie version of this. Very cool.

All interesting and informative comments. I would say that what I'm lacking with the existing strings is low-end definition. It is a laminated bass. Also, playing-wise on DB I'm a newbie so would prefer lighter tension to help moving around. If this extra info offers up further discussion please weigh in 😎

Anyone out there using Thomastik Superflexible strings? What is the difference between these and say Spirocores? Got a 1/2 upright that needs new strings and Superflexibles are about £40 cheaper.
