1. Bump :)
Just to answer a couple of questions I've had regarding the weight of the bass, yes, it's quite heavy. I dont have any scales but its heavier than my stingray 5 and my bubinga corvette 5 as it's presumably got a mahogany body. It sustains forever with those EMGs on it!

1997 model. It has EMG humbuckers. It is currently strung with 'halfwound' strings; not roundwounds but not quite flats. I've played it for probably 5 hours in the 2 years I've owned it which is reflected in condition. It's basically like new. Plays and sounds superb too, but it's just too 'rocky'and powerful for the band I play in (soul and motown stuff). Gibson gigbag with it too.

If it doesn't sell, I am doing a trade next weekend, but am just seeing if there is any interest in a straight sale on here and I can still get what I want with the cash.

Looking for £700 or make me an offer.
4. My Euro5 LX is here, mint, and only an hour away! If you want some piccies of it, I can take them!

    Cheers
Why thank you sir. Seriously having second thoughts though, both basses were amazing in rehearsal last night, particularly the LX4.

I think I'll keep 'em and save up for a Euro 5.
5.
I'm quite a happy bunny, as I've just collected an ebay impulse buy, a Yamaha BB 4GA II.

A 1988, quilted Maple (?) turquoise see-thru, twin humbuckers and active electronics. In very good condition, as new, apart from the gold plated hardware looking a bit worn.

Just plugged in and tried it and it plays and sounds great, will go down a treat with my 80's glam-metal band!

Anyone got any thoughts on these as regards what I should have paid, any pitfalls etc?

Turns out the guy is a mate of basschatter Peteacademy's so I reckon it will probably turn out to be a good deal.

Only drawback is, I may have to move something on to appease the other half....
Well i dont have any experience on that specific model but I do have a yamaha bass....a 4 string active rbx800...i play in a soul band and have 5 string warwicks, musicmans, a spector, a status, a gibson les paul etc etc. All expensive basses...... The yamaha sounds the best out of the lot. It really really does. I paid 140 qud for it about 8 years ago when I first started playing bass. I hardly ever use it, but took it to a gig last month as a back up and I just couldnt get my warwick to cut through,,,,I plugged in the yamaha, it having not seen the light of day for 12 months, and it just sounded perfect; it was still in tune in fact! Yamaha don't make crap!

  6. What it says on the tin really; I've got a 2007 Spector Euro5LX (in black cherry with gold hardware) like this

    http://www.dv247.com/guitars/spector-euro5...k-cherry--80045

that I don't really use (bought on a whim of feeling flush) that I'm wanting to swap for a markbass rig (head and cab or larger combo) AND a decent 5 (or even 4 string) bass of decent quality that I can take to gigs as back up to my Stingray. I will post some pics of the Spector if there's any serious interest. The bass is seriously mint and has had literally either 2 or 3 gigs played on it. It just doesn't sit right in the soul band that I play in and sounds too synth-like for my taste. I've tried to get on with it; it's gorgeous to play, but I feel I need to pass it on and get something in return that I will use.

    Cheers

  7. OK, I have a 1976 Guild B-301 bass in cream with a black scratchplate, totally original, and a 1999 Gibson Les Paul 5 string bass in black with EMG humbuckers and I am looking to swap either for something decent, preferably 5 string, maybe fretless (I'd consider a fretless 4 string). Please, nothing rubbish though. Something like a decent Warwick, Musicman, Fender, Lakland or the like. Message me with any offers. Oh, and I'm based in Barnsley, Yorkshire and work in Leeds.
