THought it was about time I introduced myself. Been playing bass for 29 years man and boy. Used to be in bands and played a good few gigs, generally playing blues, prog rock, rock or metal. For many years almost hung up the bass what with family responsibilities but lately have been regaining my interest and am looking at starting it all up again doing rock covers, though it's early days yet. Not much kit compared with some, I bet, but I do have a 1979 Rickenbacker 4001 with Bad Ass bridge and am looking to get a Jazz of some description (Geddy Lee clone?). Amplification is currently a 90W Carlsboro bass combo and a Peavey practice amp. First set up was a starting on a Kay shortscale Rickenbacker copy and a 100W Carlsboro Stingray head with 15inch speaker cab. I've got a 150W Roost valve head in the loft somewhere which I really should get fixed. Favourite bass player is Geddy Lee, with maybe Steve Harris a fairly close second, but there are so many really good bass players out there. Well that's me for now. Hope to get to know you guys ...
