1. Hi Guys Thank you very much for the interest. String spacing bridge is se at 3/4" or 19mm, but is adjustable i.e. each string can be moved sideways allowing to narrow the overall width. No tone contol in passive mode unfortuately, not a feature in this specific Aguilar pre-amp. But, if yu're looking for a 5 string modern version of Guy Pratt's famous Burgundy Mist Jazz Bass, this one comes pretty close (All respect to an early 60'ties Jazz in the hands of one of the best players around) Kind Regards Thomas

Add an Aguilar 3 band preamp with mid frequency swith and we’re covering even more ground. 3. Very Nice Bass indeed. Exactly what I'm a looking for as fretless. GLWTS
4. And bought! Joining its two brothers sn479 and sn964. Suppose I can never get enough of fine basses from Mike Lull :0) Thomas
5. Hi dood. I'm 100℅ with you on this one, just thought I'd ask. If you notice, the bridge seems too far to the rear as they have had to adjust it so the string guides (or whatever they are called) is at their outmost position towards the rear PU. And secondly, 4 pots but no cavity for them with access from the rear? I currently own two Mike Lull M5V's and have had numerous other nice basses so like you, my immediate impression is also of a "far east creation" The name stamping looks like what you find on cheap chinese electronic as well. But then again, some may have known it as great value for the money. Brgds Thomas
6. Hi guys. Any of you ever heard of the brand Thompson? And I'm thinking og Carl Thompson. It's a 5 string Kenn Smith look-a-like neck through design with two large soapbars and a diamond layout of the 4 pots. Not sure I can upload a photo to this thread but I've added a link to the ad. Bass came up for sale yesterday locally in Denmark, for around 500 £. I'll cost me close to 90 £ in petrol and bridge to go and try it out hence asking here first as seller refers to it as having been brought from UK to Denmark. 8. Morning chaps Thank you for the kind remarks. Just got a chance to play it for a while last night. So smooth and easy to play. A very nice bass indeed.
9. According to serial number this bass was built in late August 1993. Beautiful well shaped Bird Eye Maple neck with Pau Ferro lined fretboard. Fretboard has just been gently grinded to remove traces from previous years of playing with round wound strings. Feels and plays like new. Slightly faded white ash body, not too heave comparred to other Stingrays I've tried. 3 band Eq with 3 way PU switch. Pickguard is a (expensive) custom order I had made from Pickguardheaven in USA. Looks stunning, probably the only Stingray 5 in this finish. Well used but functional original suitcase included. This bass is clean! Trussrod works perfect, no noise from PU/Eq, neck in perfect condition only selling as I never will be the new Pino Bass is in Denmark but willing to share part of shipment costs. Price: 1000£ Me: 45 year old professional engineer working for an international Oil & Gas Drilling Company. 10. Traded locally. Regards T. Primarily testing the water if this could be of interest to someone in UK as the bass is situated in Denmark. Nino Valenti Ex US Sadowsky employee started building his own instruments back in 2005/2006 and in the meantime approx 120 instruments have left his little workshop in New York. Try spending a bit of time on Talkbass.com and you'll notice 4 megathreads containing more than 3000 questions, replies, discussions, comments, feedback, sugestions etc concerning his instruments. Highly regarded builder with an exciting career in front of him. His own page, valentibasses.com contains valuable information about his designs as well as a comprehensive photo archieve of finished instruments. Up for offer is a Vintage PJ J5 sn.#66 which is a: 5 string 34" 21 fret bass with 19 mm (3/4") string spacing at bridge Finish: The always attractive Olympic White with tortoise pickguard, black pot. knobs and chrome hardware Body. Slightly downsized Alder jazz body with exceptional good access to upper register as well as comfortable shaping. Neck: Maple neck with Pau Ferro fretboard and what seems to be medium sized frets with no wear, String compression bridge at head Pu's: Nordstrand NPJ5S. P pick has been re-arranged to normal position by one of the previous owners, Pre-amp: Aguilar OBP3 with volume and active/passive switch, blend, middle with push/pull for 400/800hz, stacked bass and treble Hardware: Chromed Hipshot Weight: A very comfortable 3.5-4 kg. Other: Straplocks I normally play normal sized 35" 5 string jazz basses and this Valenti is soooooooo easy to play and control when compared, and yet with the full potential of a real 5 string. Put it this way, the strap i use with this bass is 1" less in width than the ones for my other basses, and still a bass you could carry all night without a discomfort. Sound: Big fat punchy yet clear and defined like a grand piano and with the Aguilar preamp and Nordy Pu's you can dial in any tone you'd like. Now I all ready have a couple of very nice basses so the only thing missing in my arsenal is a fretless 5 string, and should you happen to have a Mike Lull M5V, preferable fretless, I would be more than willing to trade in this Valenti. I'm actually far more interested in a trade than selling, but like all excellent US custom build modern jazz basses this Valenti is in the 1300 £ or 1500 € price range. Don't hesitate to call or mail me for further info and additional photo's.
