12AX7 should be 100 as per data sheet (got data sheet for these?), 90 is pretty flawed. Which is kind of standard for modern valves, but testing them and calling the flawed ones a feature is well dodge. Unless they are loads cheaper because they are seconds.

So who makes these? Hard to see with the labels around them. So when you say 'low gain' do you mean a 12AT7 and high gain 12AX7?

Knobs turned up half way doesn't mean half power.

18mm ply is popular for crude unbraced cabs, but you can use thinner if you use other means to make it stiff and non-resonant.

I made a thread for BCers travelling who can move stuff between BCers and offered to act as a hub of sorts (since I work at home) but it fell off pretty quickly. I'm in Bristol and don't mind the odd bass laying about.

On the LB the DI is from the output, so if it dies, the DI dies, so you will need a backup one for that.

Those the voltages without any valves in? It drops when you are running some. Cheapy valves sometimes start dying pretty soon, had a lot of 'working' amps where the valves don't test great. The orange tester give you any clue what was wrong?

Basically, think why when you mic stuff, you put it close to the speaker. That's where sound is not affected by stuff.

He's only using half his sound there, only one jack out, the middly one, all the beef from the mudbucker is missing. Big muddy low and really thin cutting mid combine to huge, but you really miss it if one is missing.

Doesn't work like that.

I think the guy is being straight enough. Just had an exchange where I explained how the ebay system works and he has edited it to spares or repair. He just doesn't know. If he sells it as 'used' it assumes all working and you can claim against him via ebay, now listed as spares or repair, can't claim he's pretending its probably good, pretty much assume the worst.

I like the violinists face throughout.

Also, what's the neck like, skinny jazz type?

They are a nice extra to offer when shipping, but they take up too much room.

Small quantities, I use ebay, big suppliers don't consider it worth their time to work in the dozens. Turns out one big wholesale supplier scrapped their BA stock because no-one ordered in large enough quantities for it to be worth storing. I wanted to buy a few hundred so I'd never run out for amps and be able to see sets on ebay.

Modern ones are made to jsut eject a leg if they go. Old ones go really well, spewing foaming wax stuff and billows of white smoke.
