  1. I've been feeling all nostalgic over my old SB900 lately, so I followed your link to Chuya-online thinking i'd be safe' cos the SB1000s are all single pickup.......WRONG.... She Who Must Be Obeyed is filling out the divorce papers as we speak....anyone want to buy a kidney?

  2. Been using custom plugs with ER15 filters for years.
I used to work for a Danish Hearing Instrument manufacturer and no matter how many thousands you pay for hearing aids they'll NEVER replace what you've aready got stuck to either side of your head.

Shhhh, be vewy vewy quiet! She Who Must Be Obeyed doesn't know yet.....

  4. OOOOOH Mine is No 035. There was a guy on Talkbass from Finland (Mika) who had one as well.

I also noticed the Ltd Ed has appeared on the Warwick website, but, it says the fingerboard is wenge, my certificate says it's ebony so it looks like even Warwick can't remember what they've made.....too many mushrooms in the '80s methinks :D

  5. Bought it in Sound Control in Glasgow. It was either this or a Spector that was for sale in The Guitar Store and the Warwick won on the day. The Bartolini was a bit too 'civilised' for my tastes :D

  6. Mine were Canadian Ash if I remember correctly and the necks were indeed the same, Jazzish rather than Pbass, I liked the 900 better it had a far wider tonal capability, if it had been fretted it would have been ideal. I also had a blue CSB380 and a red LEB something or other.

  7. Here's my '89 Streamer Ltd Edition. Bought it brand new. Stock preamp & Bartolini pup replaced with a John East preamp & a basslines pup.

I also have an old warhorse '90 Thumb NT which is my 'go to' bass, the finish is lovingly kept in tip top condition with spilled Guiness and sweat :drinks:

and all being well on Sunday I should have another Warwick added to the collection :santa2:

:D We've got an apprentice at work who went with us to his first Motorhead gig in November, i've got Motorhead ticket stubs older than him :swoon: (Dec 1980 being my first M'head gig)...he was heard afterwards saying 'FFS all you old dudes are mad as hatters!!' Why thank you sonny :hi:

As for influences Phil Lynott, JJ Burnel, Lemmy, The Ox, Geddy Lee and Floyd Pepper from The Electric Mayhem

  9. Very nice. I had several Arias back in the '80s. My favs were an SB1000 (oak) which weighed the same as a small family car and a fabulous SB900 (walnut) fretless which I loved and the Philistines in the band hated... :angry2:

  10. Any of you Vintage V4 owners care to measure your neck pocket size for me. I've got a nice maple Jazz bass neck looking for a cheap pbass home and the hardware on the Vintage seems a wee bit better than on the Squiers. So if the neck pocket fits a nice black Vintage will become the donor and i'll have to dig out my old Stranglers Tshirt :i-m_so_happy:

    Thanks
