Total Watts

1. Hi, To remove any confusion, this amp is now sold. Thanks for looking!
2. Greetings Basschat After a while of using this amp occasionally for rehearsals at home, I've decided to try to sell once again. I also have an epifani 1x12 cab which can be used in conjunction. I will chuck this in for free if that's of any interest!
3. Hi there Basschatters, Selling my Acoustic Image Coda R III amplifier. This is up on Ebay at the moment for £700 but putting it up here for less if I can avoid ebay fees and postage! Some info which is also on the Ebay listing: Excellent on its own for double bass with downfiring 10" speaker and optional tilt-up 8" speaker and high frequency horn. At 400 watts, a very powerful amp and I have used it on loud gigs with bass guitar with a 1x12" or 2x10" extension cab. With two channels it's perfect for doubling bass guitar and double bass or for blending microphone and pickup signals from double bass. Reading reviews of the amp it looks like you could share with a keyboard player or plug a mic in for singing or talking (there is a reverb/effects channel too) which I have never done but apparently works very well. Very light and portable and includes the official fitted soft case which costs £120 new. A few cosmetic scratches but otherwise in perfect working order. Would prefer local pickup from SE15 2BG (Peckham/Nunhead in South East London) but would post if essential. 6. Hi Folks, I'm selling my 2x12" TC cab. This is a great cab, I just found the 2x12" overkill for double bass on jazz gigs! It's great for electric but I don't do so many bass guitar gigs these days. The cab sat around in my old flat for a while not being used and now I've moved to a smaller pad I'm looking to sell. I've used this cab on maybe 10 gigs! Condition is excellent, some superficial scratches but no tears/deep scratches. Ideal would be pickup from my place in New Cross, SE London, but I can look into the costs of courier if interested. I do paypal and all that. Sensible offers considered! Matt
7.
I'm getting very good results with a DPA4099/Headway/QSC K10 on a stand with a little bit of pickup blend into the second Headway channel.
Also I've been looking into this headway preamp thing-I notice that the eq on the module is for the combined signal, so you can't eq each channel seperately. Is this not really really annoying?!!? What if the mic is too boomy and you want to dial out some of the low end but keep the low end from the pickup?
8. yeah I've met orchestral players who consider spirocores a good orchestral string. Which surprised me a great deal. But they do sound good bowed if you can get them to speak properly. I recommend these strings as a good starting point if you have no experience of other strings; they are good all round for many different playing situations.
9. well I haven't tried one but I would bet any money that for a jazz group where the drummer is swinging quite loud or a big band etc, The bose L1 wouldn't produce enough ummph. Also it depends on the bass, I play an old french bass with medium high action, and it packs some punch acoustically, which is really what I want to get through the amp that I'm using. The pickup doesn't really cut it. It sounds plastic and doesn't reproduce the hollow resonance of the bass. Incidentally, I got hold of a mackie 10 today and tried the pickup and and SM58 through it seperately (I don't have a mixer yet). With fishman preamp it sounded remarkably as good as any other bass amp. The mic sounded much better, really ballsy, punchy and resonant, although in need of some EQ. So I guess I need a mixer preamp, if anyone is wanting rid of one please feel free to get in touch!
10. hmm bose L1 compact.....that's the futuristic looking pa thing, right? Is that any good for URB then? I would have thought the speakers in the spike thing to small...
