1. I have decided to lower the price of the Mo Clifton to £650 for a quick sale!
2. Thanks Paul, I spoke to Mo Clifton and he remembered the instrument - he advised me to sell it for £800. I asked him about the pick up, but he didn't mention anything about it being an aftermarket pick up. Also, the hole doesn't look like it is connected in any way to the pick up as its on the other side. The mystery of the hole continues
Yeah the hole on the back is for the leg rest. The hole on the front though,is in the same position as the volume control on mine-it looks like an aftermarket pickup to me,so the controls may have been removed. The hole for the stand is usually in the neck heel.
3. There is a hole on the back as well which I assume is for a leg rest, but I don't have one, didn't actually realise they existed until now! Just been looking on the mo clifton website http://www.cliftonbasses.co.uk/ I don't know what the hole at the front is for, but looks the same as the one on the back - maybe one is for the stand and one is for the leg rest ?
Is there a leg-rest bit? What was the hole for?
4. Would you like to learn the double bass, or brush up on your technique ? I am an experienced double bassist having studied at the RNCM and the RSAMD. My main teachers have been Graham Robb, Ninian Perry, Duncan McTier and Corrin Long. I offer a solid grounding in all aspects of the double bass technique, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Feel free to get in touch with any queries!
5. REDUCED PRICE! Was £800, now £650 Early Mo Clifton electric upright bass for sale. Lovely mellow tone. Selling due to having moved back to the double bass and now raising money to buy good acoustic pick up! £650
6. Early Mo Clifton electric upright bass for sale. Lovely mellow tone. Selling due to having moved back to the double bass and now raising money to buy good acoustic pick up! Far superior in sound to most electric uprights in this price range. £800
7. I don't suppose your bass is still for sale?!
8. I don't suppose you bass is still for sale?! I'm looking for something around that price mark.
9. I'm searching for a 3/4 size double bass. If anyone knows of any for sale I'd be grateful if you could let me know! I'm in Edinburgh, but willing to travel. Look forward to hearing from you!
10. Hi everyone, I'm new on here - I'm searching for a 3/4 size double bass. I currently play a Mo Clifton electric upright. It has a lovely mellow sound, but I haven't been able to get used to it properly, with the sound coming from the amp and not the body. I think I need to get back to the acoustic. I'm classically trained, but playing with bands and songwriters now. I've spoken to Mo himself and he has recommended I sell the electric for £800. I would like to keep it really but need to get the funds for an acoustic. So, I'm on here to either sell my electric upright, or swap with someone who has a double bass of the same value. Or if anyone knows of anyone selling a double bass I'd be grateful if you could let me know! I'm in Edinburgh, but willing to travel. Look forward to hearing from you!
