1. Hi Rogertodge Sorry mate, need to sell get shot, so not looking to trading
2. Jeff doesn't do tweeters bump (pre twitter of course) :-)
3.
It's already easy to find what you're looking for. On the Basses For Sale page, type your search term in the search box (duh!) and open the grey pull-down menu, then select 'This Forum'. Job done.
Are you trying to imply i'm stupid with the "Duh!" comment It was a suggestion thats all, no need to be rude about it now is there
4. A little bit of digging around threw up this extension http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/4037-classifieds/?page=2 and this as an example of it in action, parts are ugley but not beyond some hacking of the CSS :-) https://www.pro-bike.ro/forums/classifieds/category/14-motocross-trial/?sort_key=price&sort_order=desc
5.
Every site out there is moving away to free text search, would be a backward step for BC to start dividing listings. Filters are a non starter. You'd either need to parse the ads, or fill in a form at posting. It would take BC beyond the £20 listing sub, and it would break. Massive headache!
Which begs the question, is it about time Basschat went for some kind of full blown commerce system, seeing the popularity of the selling section
6.
I've bought several basses I was not searching for due to precisely this, which is why I want them all in one place. The ideal solution would be the ability to add searchable attributes such as model, number of strings, colour, etc, and have them as drop down selections under search, much like eBay.
Ok i'm seeing the point, filters as you mentioned would be ideal (well for me anyway)
7.
Spare a thought for the poor old mod team.
Yeah I guess so, could be a bit of a mare to mod, although I think Timmo's suggestion of a price filter would be a nice touch to the site
8. But im mainly coming at it as a seller, not a tyre kicker
9. Is there any chance that the ‘basses for sale’ section on the forum could be split into sub sections, for example Fender Warwick Ibanez Lakland Sandberg Custom and so one This would make the section a lot easier to navigate, It'll be easier to locate a bass the user may be looking for, reduce the need for sellers to bump their adverts every few days (which sometimes are off the 1st page within hours), and finally lightening the load on your database :-) Good idea?
10. This is my "Have I got this over priced or is no one buying these days ;-) " Bump
11. @ The Greek, looks like no one wants it, oh well looks like i'll keep hold of it, not desperate to shift it.
12. Had a PM from Jockabilly that i can't seem to reply to, sorry for the delay in my reply Jockabilly, to answer your questions, I would prefer collections, if you want to use a courier it'll be at your expense, would prefer cash or bank transfer, I wont accept payment via PayPal.
