Learning to read while learning to play for me. Though trying not to get into the habit of learning that the 3rd fret on the 3rd string is 'that note' rather than the note is a 'C' and the 3rd fret on the 3rd string is also a 'C'

Hey,
Been perusing basschat for the past 2 weeks, taking in as much as I can, getting what I can from it But thought I'd say hello and try and join into some of the threads now.
Started playing bass 2 weeks ago when I got my epiphone les paul special bass Currently not using a teacher but using the information over at studybass and a beginner to intermediate bass book.
Will be getting a teacher (if anyone has good well priced suggestions) when I move to Bristol at the beginning of July.
Wanted to play bass for the past 7-8 years but never got round to getting one... Now I have I can't stop
Main source of bass love for John Entwistle. ^_^
Thanks
Mark
Wanted: Bristol Bass Tutor

Hi,
I am moving to Bristol in July and I'm looking for my first bass tutor. I would be interested in 1 lesson a week for 1 hour.
A bit of background, I have owned my bass for 2 weeks and I'm currently learning from "Complete learn to play - bass" (link: http://www.bassbooks.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=574)
I would prefer the tutor to primarily teach bass, and have a wealth of experience teaching.
Thanks ^_^
Mark
