1. Hey all,

Selling my Gibson Les Paul Studio which is in Fireburst (looks same as http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-guitar...e-hardware.asp). (Except mine has gold hardware).

Guitar bought around 2008 but I moved to bass around the same time and so, have hardly ever played it.

The guitar is in great condition, gold on pickups looks just a tiny bit 'bubbly' in a couple of spots but still looks really good and not really noticable.

    Never gigged and hardly played.

Looking for £675 if collected (approx 15 minutes from Gatwick) or will get quotes for couriers once I can measure and weigh it etc.

    Will get some pics ASAP.

    Thanks.

  2. For sale Ashdown Five Fifteen bass combo (1x15").

A couple of years old but hardly used as I bought a used Genz Benz slightly after getting the Ashdown and therefore in good condition. Its not been gigged and only used for practising.

The specs etc for these amps can be seen at http://www.dv247.com/guitars/ashdown-five-...er-combo--73697.

Looking for £75 if collected (only about 15 minutes from Gatwick airport). Can look into couriers if required but this would cost extra (will get quotes when I can weigh and measure it properly). Will also get a pic up ASAP.

    Thanks for looking.

Sold now, thanks all for the interest.

  3. Hi all,

I am going to be wiring a jazz bass pretty soon but it will be the first time I have ever tried anything like this. I have all the pots etc and will be using either Fender SCN or Vint Noiseless pickups.

I wondered though if anyone has any really good pics of exactly how a US jazz bass is wired? I have the wiring diagrams but as I havent done it before, I think it would really help to see a good picture of the actual wiring on a guitar.

I have searched on the net and had some luck with pics but even these are not very clear and so I thought I would ask here just in case!

    Thanks.

  4. Thanks very much for the replies.

I have found out that the US P Basses from 2000 and a few years after used Schaller tuners which are listed as XBS-1C..

I cant find any pics of the back of these tuners to show the prongs and if these would fit the holes. If anyone has a Schaller XBS-1C please can you add a pic of the side that meets the wood so that I can see if these are close together, or if possible measure the distance between the prongs. It might not be these but seems to match some of the details you have listed.

Thanks all for the help with this, much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi all,

A bit of a random question and apologies if its quite vague.

I have purchased a 2nd hand made in USA P Bass neck which has never been used, and I was expecting it to use standard US tuners. I think the neck itself is about 8-10 years old.

I bought one of the Fender tuners that has the 2 prongs on the back rather than screws as the neck itself does have 2 pre-drilled holes on the back of the headstock by where each would go in. However when I came to fit the tuner I found that the holes were too small and too close together (and in fact on wrong side of the hole) for these to fit.

I compared the holes to the tuners on a couple of other guitars - a Mexican Fender and a Squier Bass but the screws holes were not in the same place to screw in.

I have attached a picture and I am wondering if anyone has any idea what sort of tuners would go on here as it seems that the holes there are too close together for most of the tuners I have seen!!!

    Thanks for any help.

  6. Guys, thank you very much for your opinions.. I might do some more research on individual pedals and see what I can find. I saw that the GT10B has a Big Muff Bass distortion model but not sure about the other effects needed. I can play the songs fine but it just doesnt sound quite right as my Boss distortion pedal on its own doesnt really come close to the sound.

Thanks for the help chaps.. Going to also download the GT10B user manual now and see how complicated it is! One big plus for the individual pedals is that they are so easy to set.

  7. Hey all,

I am currently using a couple of separate Boss effect pedals (distortion and chorus) but have been looking to get some more pedals to recreate the Muse sound from Hysteria/Plug in Baby as my band covers these..

I have seen that a Digitech Bass Synth Wah and Electro Harmonics Bass Big Muff will get the sound but these 2 add up to half the cost of a GT10B.. I am therefore tempted to just get the multieffects as I would have other effect options, but I am not sure how possible it is to get the sound of Muse (Wah and Muff) with the GT10B..

Does anyone have one and have any ideas or thoughts on this? I havent had a multieffects pedal before and usually go for separate ones but am tempted just because it would be easier lugging around 1 board instead of 6 or 7 pedals! Been doing searches for info or videos with Muse settings on GT10B but cant find anything thats helped!

    Help appreciated!

    Thanks.

  8. PMs replied to..

And thanks for the comments, these basses really are fantastic.. I would love to keep it if I could afford to but I dont play enough to need 2 and I havent paid for the new one yet so need the funds!

Its my first guitar on here so I dont have much rating but I have good ebay feedback, just didnt want to sell it on there when there are real bassists on here

  9. Hi all,

For sale is my Rockbass Fortress 4 string guitar. This is in excellent condition, probably only had about 20 hours use in the 2 years or so that I have had it. I purchased it to add a few bass lines to some recordings I was doing at home and have now upgraded to a Fender as I have recently joined a band and wanted something a bit more recognisable. To be honest, this Rockbass feels just as good quality as other more expensive basses I have tried (especially the more expensive Warwick models)!

I purchased this new for about £370 and they are still retailing about that price - details can be seen on retailers websites such as Andertons. It has active electronics, sounds fantastic and is a really good build quality.

I am looking for £200 + shipping or you can collect from around the Gatwick area. I expect shipping will be around £10-£20.

I have added some images below.. Please excuse the bad photography and flash reflections as I took these with my phones camera!
