  2. For sale is my Marshall DSL40C guitar amp. I purchased this about 2 years ago and it has so far had about 20 hours use in total. Never gigged, it has just been a bedroom amp but is way too powerful and being a bass player, I didn't really play the electric guitar as much as I thought I would!

Currently these are selling for £599 and I am only looking for £400. This includes the footswitch.

I can take more pics, but heading out to work in a sec.

Cash on collection only from Reigate, Surrey (2 mins from J8 on M25).

    Thanks.

  4. Hi all,

I have a 4 ohm Ashdown 575 watt RMS bass amp head and currently am using an 8 ohm cab with it which is rated at 600W.

Does anyone know what the head outputs to each speaker if I were to connect up another 8 ohm cab? I have been looking at a 300 watt Ashdown 210 but not sure if that would handle enough and I can't find anything online that clarifies.

    Thanks!

  5. Hi all,

For sale is my 2012 Gibson SG Standard guitar in black. I bought this new from PMT Online music but typically joined a band as a bassist a couple of months later, so this guitar has hardly been used.

It is in fantastic condition and also comes with a Gibson hardcase which is also in perfect condition. Other than a some dust and a few fingerprints, you wouldn't know its not brand new (and of course I will polish it first!).. :)

The guitar was about £800+ new, and I am looking for £550. Sorry no trades as I need the money to put towards a flat deposit!

I am based in Redhill, Surrey. Would prefer cash on collection, or can investigate shipping costs to UK if needed.

Pics attached. Apologies they are not brilliant but I had to use my iPhone 4 camera!

    Thanks.

  6. When Fender used to sell necks they always had the decals on as far as I can remember. They then decided to only sell replacement necks as part of paid replacements and Fender would do the work themselves to ensure that the old neck was disposed of and didnt make its way back into the chain.

Its now possible to buy Fender necks again, although I think these are all Mexican made. Stringsdirect and Allparts would sell them.

  7. I agree with Lozz.. Although they have had bad press in the past, the MIM's nowadays are much better than they used to be.

My Duff McKagain Sig was made in Mexico and is fantastic - thanks again Lozz for selling it back to me!!.. ;)

Also, when some models are moved over to Mex they are refining some slightly.. I remember the Jap Jaguar basses used to hiss badly, but the Mex ones were meant to address this a bit etc etc.

  8. Thanks for the discussion, appreciate everyone has their opinion.

Fenders generally need a setup when they arrive. I had a tech look at this and lower action. He said it can go lower but I prefer it where it is.

At the end of the day, it is a Fender, has SD pickup, Badass bridge, looks amazing with the flame neck and is over £200 cheaper here for a 6 month old one than a brand new shop bought one. :)
