It varies, but very often is Tony Levin
(who is curiously unlisted)

On the train home from Extreme supported by Living Colour at The Forum, Kentish Town. Great performances by both. Excellent sound. Extreme clocked in at almost two hours, but a well paced show. Pat played a blinder. I believe they are back there later this month. Tonight was sold out. Not sure if the other date is.
Just made the last train at Liv St before the strike kicks in.
Living Colour were amazing, Doug Wimbish is a powerhouse, and I loved the hip-hop medley. Extreme I was a bit disappointed by - GC's vocals seem to be more shouted than sung these days. Great to see Nuno and Pat though, and the drummer (sorry don't know his name) was good too. I was on the floor for the first few songs then headed to the bar for a drink. There was no way I was going to back to where I was, but nowhere back of the floor had any sightlines and the sound was suffering as well. I left after Am I Ever Going To Change (one of my favourites) which was a struggle to get through.

later in the month: Stick Men/Tu-Ner in Prague with Tony Levin, Markus Reuter and Trey Gunn
The above was as amazing as expected, and also featured the David Cross Band doing all of Larks Tongues in Aspic, which was quite special.
The encore was everyone on stage for Starless and 21st Century Schizoid Man 🤩
Tomorrow: further excitement with Extreme and Living Colour

Welcome! I too am a moderately-bad guitarist.

Quite like! Best AotW so far. Compared my usual Scandawegian jazz preferences they need to let the pig out a bit, but otherwise well played and sounds lovely.

Ooh, Nordic jazz - should be a pleasant listen
Oooh yes, looking forward to this one.

Listened to all of it, don't mind the non-English vocals (I'm a Magma fan ffs) but equally not really my bag. Ok though, and better than previous arbitrary "derrière" (anag)
I wonder if band members on any AotWs are casually googling their bandname and ending up here? Probably not Bjork tbh.

Lovely bit of kit
(but how did it come to £4.5k? our new boiler was about half that)

I shan't let it colour my opinion and I hope no one else's either.
But, anagram of 'derrière'

Lageos - Actress London Contemporary Orchestra
Quite liked it! Doubt it's one I'll come back often to but nice to have on in the background with Monday morning work. Probably my favourite AotW so far.

Not often I post here, but going through an embarrassment of riches this month bass-wise:
last week at the Pizza Express Jazz: Janek Gwizdala
tonight at the Barbican: Hiromi with Hadrien Feraud in the band
the weekend: Michael League and Bill Laurance at the QEH (also got Goose the same night, suspect quite handy but unknown-to-me bassist)
later in the month: Stick Men/Tu-Ner in Prague with Tony Levin, Markus Reuter and Trey Gunn

Sold elsewhere - thanks for looking!
Rings on your fretting hand

No problem here with mine, that part of the ring finger tends to stay out of trouble just off the lower (in height) side of the neck.
If you grip the neck really hard with a thumb-over type of grip you might have more to deal with though
