what is this Status bass worth?

Hello bass lovers!

I am in the process of selling an old status bass, and as I am not very knowledgeable I was wondering what you guys (or galls?) think.

I posted [url="http://link.marktplaats.nl/342574486"]this add[/url] on the 'dutch ebay' you can see some pics there. The reason I'm asking is because someone who hasn't bid on the thing sent me an email stating that it's worth much more and I should not sell it for the offered price (650 euro = 564 pounds). The reasoning was that status graphite basses with a head (is that how bass players call a not headless bass?) is actually quite rare.

The text on the add translates roughly into:
[i] I once bought this bass with the plan to learn how to play it. I have never gotten around to do it. So who wan't it?

I don't know the age, probably over 10 years. It appears to be a status, don't know the type. The neck is straight, the tuning machine work smoothly and it's in good condition

Ok. That is a status S2 of some description. I'm not massively in the know about status basses but that's more than likely a custom build. I'm not sure headed status's are any more valuable than headless ones but this certainly isn't a cheap bass. I'm sure someone on here will be able to give you a good estimate of value or build cost. I'd say that's a very very low price for such an instrument though.

That's a standard Status Energy from the early '90s, they changed the shape in the mid 90's but yours is the original classic Status shape.

It's not exactly rare and it's from Status' budget line of instruments, but it's still a good bass and you shouldn't have too much trouble selling a graphite necked bass.

I would say stick with the price you've got in on for, I'd be surprised if you could get more than that but I might be wrong!

Rich is quite correct, it's a 90's graphite necked Energy. The graphite neck makes it worth a bit more than the wooden ones, so I'd say you're looking at around £5-600 or EUR 570-690.

Looks like a nice bass. Could be the Energy Artist model, as it has a very nice piece of top wood. Again, best of luck with the sale.
