valere24 Posted March 3, 2010 Share Posted March 3, 2010 I use a thumbpick on guitar occasionally for Merle Travis/Chet Atkins stuff. Not on guitar though, although I use my thumb a lot. Dominique di Piazza uses a thumb pick these days, but to be honest I much prefered his tone when he wasn't using one back in the John McLaughlin days. Vick Posted March 4, 2010 Share Posted March 4, 2010 I recently found a site called picksandstones.com and actually ordered some 'stone' picks. They're really good to play with. I'd love to be able to play with my fingers, but after years of using a pick, my timing isn't that good - might be okay live, but when recording, you really notice it.
