philwood Posted December 11, 2009 Share Posted December 11, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm an experienced bass player and currently offering lessons based in Morecambe/Lancaster in Lancashire. I have over 13 years experience in playing and gigging throughout the country. I feel my lessons may be slightly different than some people might be used to or previously experienced - I have found the best way to teach is to get students 'playing' straight away, learning nice lines and phrases to be able to incorporate into their own playing. That way the student naturally wants to know 'why' these lines work, so we can then study the theory behind it. In the same way as children we learn to say words first before we learn the alphabet! I also like to encourage learning as many songs/tunes as possible within the course of the lessons. I also like to teach abit from the piano which i find helps speed up understanding. All levels of students are more than welcome from beginner to advanced, aswell as all styles. First lesson is always free as i like to get an understanding of your goals, interests and where your current playing level is.
