magee Posted September 21, 2009 Share Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) For sale is a great looking, lovely sounding 1989 or 1990 Japanese Fender Jazz. This is a 1962 reissue, is relatively light, has a red tortoiseshell scratchplate and sounds fantastic. This had a full service and set up earlier this year. It had a new nut fitted and brand new pots and electrics, since the ones that were in it matched the active pickups a previous owner had installed. It is fitted with Fender pickups from a Mexican Jazz. It's from 1989 or 1990 [the serial number is H plus six digits, which covers both years]. This is a great bass that will make someone very happy, but as I say the pickups and electrics are not original. Also, a previous owner has drawn lines on the back of the neck in four places, perhaps as some kind of fret marker. They are faint but are still visible. Because of this it's for sale at a pretty reasonable £340, plus postage if you can't collect from Glasgow. It'll be securely packed in a gig bag. I'm in Glasgow, and anyone is very welcome to come and try it out.
