Wizard 64's in a Warwick Corvette Standard (Bubinga/Ovangkol/Wenge)?

I'm looking to get a more old school tone out of my passive Warwick Corvette Standard (The bubinga/ovangkol/wenge version). I was thinking about the Lollar Jazz Bass Pups but I have run across discussions of the Wizard 64s which look great and would be a fair bit cheaper than the Lollars even shipped from the UK to US.

Anybody have any thoughts about how these might sound in the Warwick?

Anyone compare them to the Lollars?

I really like the wizards in the corvette. I was looking for the same and that's what I got. More open than the MECs that I found too mid-focused, clanky and lacking clarity. They have good output too.

On the over hand, I would bet the Lollars will have similar characteristics. With shipping, currency conversion, and customs (?), I suppose Wizards would still be cheaper, but I'd just stick with local stuff to save any hassle.

BTW, if I was in the USA, I'd seriously consider Nordstrand NJ4's. They are too expensive in Europe, and Wizards do very nicely.

Interesting that you mention the Nordstrands as I was just going to ask if anyone had compared the Wizards to the NJ4['s!

Just curious but what are you using for strings. I recently switched to some Pyramid Gold Nickel Flatwounds that I am liking quite a bit.

I have the strings it came with Bought the bass second hand and put wizards on it. Strings are light, and now pretty worn down, I don't know what they are, maybe warwicks. I don't really feel the need to change them because it sounds good as it is anyway, except to get a bit more snap. I've got DR Sunbeams on the way.
