Plucking perpendicular to the strings

Hiya,

I have realised that i dont pluck the strings directly perpendicular to them (not completley vertical) but rather at an angle. Is there any problem with this? I noticed that i dont do this if im resting my thumb on my jazz's bridge pickup, my plucking is completely straight and i tend to apply more attack.

In addition, i noticed that when playing on the bridge pickup my fingers dont curl as much, but seem to be more stretched out and flick more, whilst with neck plucking they curl up and pluck with less strength.

Any ideas?
