Bought these recently here and they’re great but I decided to go with my preferred choice on a bass I’ve modded for a particular situation.

In my trial with them I found them to be quiet and even with low output as described (alnico standard) but much better than stock pickups. In other words...pro improvement.

My East UK active preamp has gain adjustment so that didn’t pose a problem.
I thought they were vintage voiced (60’s) but even slap style sounded pleasant. I preferred the more hi-fi sound of the EMG for the stuff I’m doing (plus I have more vintage styled instruments available).

I also did the series/parallel switching with them and that was great (versatile option) but you can choose either as both ways sounded great.

I have epoxied the tabs so they’re much better and poses no problems to mount the pickups. 

I’m asking what I paid for them and this includes UK shipping.
