Pete Back Custom guitars

Does anyone have a Pete Back bass? Only ever saw one, a lefty Thunderbird with a flying V headstock. I owned a Pete Back Explorer for a while, sadly now gone. 

Not even sure if he's still in business, and cant find much info about him.

Theres one of his for sale on Reverb atm which you might have seen? Looks a bit like one of those Greco GOB basses. You should have held on to that Explorer. I bet that was some machine....

I've actually been wanting to ask this exact question for a while now! Remember lusting after this crazy fretless Explorer-shaped thing for a long time before it eventually sold on Reverb:

Googling it reveals some blog posts which have more information about him. Seems like a little-known luthier who made some really high quality instruments in his time.
