By way of update from my diggings you can get knurled tuning gears from Sire, I think for free as they did a bit of a mea culpa for the current designs. 

 

Any more impressions from these basses? I just ordered the swamp ash version for a juicy £616 with Bad Shop. It should be here maybe maybe maybe next week.
