ronswanson Posted Sunday at 16:30 Posted Sunday at 16:30 I'm looking for some advice on how to re-finish an area of a jazz neck I have. It came to me with a crack apparently professionally repaired. The crack has got a little worse, so I glued and clamped. After sanding back smooth the wood is a bit grey-pink when dry. When wet it's dark. Can it be stained to get closer to the original colour? I'll probably ending up replacing the neck but for now I just want to get it back together to test it out. Dry Wet Quote
ronswanson Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago I saw a suggestion to use light oak wood stain so might give that a try. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think light oak will be far darker than your 'wet' image. Try a thin coat of varnish first. Quote
