Hi,

About two weeks ago one of my prized possesions a 1980 Aria SB1000 started developing a strange buzziness to its usually lovely warm jazzy sound. I tried all of the obvious; changed the batteries, leads, switched amps you name it but now when Passive mode is selected I get a barely audiable fuzzy sound when playing.

When I switch to active theres no sound at all, a bass playing pal has suggested I might have a bad pre-amp which sounds very bad and where on earth can I get someone to repair this old but faithul old girl?

I am in Bexhill on Sea (East sussex) anyone reccomend a good repair guy? I love the SB and it fits with an 80's cover band I am putting together perfectly. It will cost up to a grand to replace it these days.

Advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve.
