wesfinn Posted January 11, 2009 Share Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) Hi all, just a feeler at the moment. i have a 1962 slab board jazz bass. the neck was refinished at somepoint in the 70s and the body was dropped and broken in the 70s. when i got the bass it had a non fender fiesta red body which i still have which weighs an absolute ton! the neck is stamped 7 april 1962 A and since purchasing it i have put the neck onto a MIJ 62 reissue alder body in sunburst which feels great. i believe the pickups are original, scratchplate + screws , bridge, bridge and pickup covers and reverse tuners and other hardware are all original. neck has original clay dots and no cracks, still plenty of adjustment on the truss rod. the bass plays very well and sounds amazing! has a 2 catch 60's hard case which isn't original.
