So unlike previous amps I've owned where I've adapted the eq to 'push' certain notes out, whilst compromising others, on both 800 models I can set any tone combination at any volume. Tonally, they're both very different. The LM Tube 800 has a low-mid immediacy, whereas the TTE 800 has a softer vintage vibe. I've used the TTE with the 4x8, but also two 1x12s and lately the big MB 4x10. I thought the 1x12s would be the best compatibility being a vintage vibe like a Bassman or old SVT, but I found that I couldn't get the tightest low notes. The 4x8 was the better combination because my 4x10 is 4ohm so I barely get the master volume past 10 o'clock without front of house telling me to reduce my stage volume!
