For Sale, a used, but in near perfect condition Warwick 5 String Thumb 'Neck Through' bass. In case you didn't realise (and as you can see from the photos) the neck and body are made of one piece of wood. Some formidable german engineering which results in an incredible sounding bass with unbelievable sustain and tone.

2 MEC jazz pickups, active pre-amp and the three controls allow volume, pickup blend, mid, bass and treble. It also has a push / pull part to the volume to disengage the active EQ (great if the battery runs out during a gig!)

The body is Bubinga Pommele with Ovangkol neck, brass frets and black hardware. It has an upgraded nut (the Warwick Just a Nut III) and new locking strap locks.

Included with the bass is the flight case as pictured, strap and user kit which includes manual, tools (such as truss adjuster, alum keys etc) and some beeswax to polish up the body. I've owned this bass from brand new and it's been extremely well looked after.

It's located in Portsmouth, UK and as it's being sold with the flight case I'm happy to ship worldwide with the buyer paying the postage. Sale only, no trades. The price listed is my ideal price - I'm happy to accept offers near it, but nothing completely silly. :)

I don't think the neck and body are one piece of wood - as you state yourself the body is bubinga and the neck is ovangkol. Instead, the fact that you can't see the thru-neck construction on the body is due to the "hidden thru-neck" construction, where the body has a groove cut out of it (and the neck laid into that) but there is a remaining piece of body wood to cover the front.

Lovely bass though!

Yes - that's a more accurate way of describing it - and wasn't intending on misleading anyone!

What's unique about this bass is that the wood from the neck is not bolted on to the body in the same way that most other basses are (but it's inset into the body as described above). The way it's constructed delivers a much longer sustain and an incredible feel. Thanks for the assistance in describing it better!
