It is for Lakland DJ models, it won't fit standard jazz basses because it is curved. It has chrome tips and black rings, but I didn't replace it (I ordered all chrome). It is very very easy to install it as well as to take it out because there is only grounding wire to be soldered - pickup wires are attached by screws. It has worked flawlessly from the day I put it in my bass but unfortunately I have to pay for car repair so this has to go. It comes with a 9V battery, both in the original package. It is a very strong preamp with lots of tonal options so you won't be bored. Note the middle push/pull knob in fifth picture. I have also been in studio with it a few times and it worked really well!
