Uli
SOLD! Hi, I am selling a Fano alt de Facto GF4 bass because I have to save up money for a very nice cello I recently spotted. Body and neck are build from mahogany, the top wood is maple. The instrument has a fantastic sound because of it’s resonant semi-hollow design and the custom Lollar pickups. The bass has passive electronics and a medium aged finish. Scale length is 32” which is a perfect compromise between thick “thump” and clear tonal separation. And for sure it is very easy and fast to play. The instrument is in a mint condition (as this is valid for a new ‘medium aged’ instrument) and was bought in oktober 2013 at Vintage Gitarr / Oslo (http://www.vintagegi...-faded-teaburst). Specifikation: + Body: Mahogany + Top: Maple + Neck wood: Mahogany + Neck: Bold on + Neck shape: Early 60’s C -shape (.800-.970) + Finish: Nitro cellulose + Distress level: Medium + Scale length: 32” + Nut width: 38mm + Fretboard radius: 7.25” + Weight: 3.54kg + Tuners: Schaller + Nut: Graphtech Tusq + Bridge: Hipshot + Pickguard: 4-ply Tortoise + Case: G&G custom In May 2013 the Fano GF-4 bass got an Editor-Award from ‘bassplayer’ magazine: “In some respects-scale length, electronics, fit and finish—the semi-hollow GF4 shares a lot in common with the PX4. But without a doubt, the GF4 is a beast of a different breed. One of the vibiest basses to pass through the BP offices in quite a while, the GF4 displays the same degree of expert craftsman- ship and attention to detail as the PX4—and then some. With its offset dual-cutaway body—accented by a marvelous faux-tortoiseshell pickguard—the medium-scale GF4 balances beautifully on a strap and in a lap. Strung with D’Addario XL Half Rounds, the semi-hollow Fano is woof-y as wolfhound with the bite of a pit bull. While some semi-hollows are prone to sound muddy, the GF4 speaks clearly at all settings. And for what it is—a passive semi-hollow with two pickups and a tone control—the bass is remarkably versatile. Whereas the PX4 uses Lollar Thunderbird-style pickups, the GF4 has pickups modeled after Gibson’s Firebird guitar pickups. Don’t scoff—it actually makes perfect sense. At their best, semi-hollow basses offer warmth, woof, and bite. But that woof can turn into a murky, muddy mess with the wrong pickups. The brightness of Lollar’s Firebird-style pickups offset the darker acoustic character of the GF4 brilliantly. Again, well played.” If you are interested I am happy to send more photos. Case made by G&G (new condition) and a set of extra strings (D’Addario Chromes ECB81M) is included. Original price: 2900,- EUR / 2300,- GBP Accepted sales price:1630,- EUR / 1300,- GBP Just now the instrument is located at Public-Peace in Germany (http://www.public-pe...lt-de-facto-gf4), so it is no problem to send it within Europe with little costs. Edited December 4, 2014 by Uli
