I am considering getting my gear insured as i will shortly be morving to london and doing alot of traveling on public transport with my basses and will not be living in the most 'crime free' area. Anybody have suggestions of companies to use or methods of insurance, for example at home will it be cheaper to declare the expensive items to my contents insurer or get them covered seperatly by an insutrment insurer? I have found it quite hard to get a quote and cant really tell if i can get a group of instruments / gear (heads / cabs / stuido monitors etc) insured or if these instrument insurers only do indiviual items. I switched from musicguard as my cover exceeded some threshold of theirs that required extra security to an unreasonable degree for a normal domestic setup. Get great benefits from it aside from the insurance, which I believe is up to £2000 free then you pay an extra £25 to go unlimited? I think, it's something like that anyway!
