Edit 25.3.13: SOLD, pending payment

For sale is this Fender Bassman 20, a relatively rare Fender combo from the early 1980s that is great for bass but also appears to be well-loved by guitarists and harmonica players.

It is a point-to-point wired, all-valve, 18 watts with a 15" speaker. It's from the Paul Rivera era at Fender, and there don't seem to have been very many made.

It makes a beautiful sound but for bass it is a recording/practice/jamming amp but doesn't have enough power to keep up with a drummer and full band very well in a gig situation.

If you want pure valve tone at playing-in-the-house levels or you want to be able to get a sweet recorded tone without waking the neighbours then this is the one for you.

I've played guitar through it and you get a beautiful rich, full tone. It is properly loud with guitar and I haven't had the chance to push it to distortion in the house because it's so loud. I wish I could keep it just for guitar but I need to sell to contribute funds to a louder all-valve bass head, sadly.

Price: £370 delivered
