Hello list

I'm on the verge of buying my first combo and I'm looking at the GB Contour 11t from bass direct.

http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Genz_Benz_Contour_Combos_210,_115.html

Just wondering if anyone has had a play on these and has any thoughts about them.

it should be plenty big enough for the gigs I do (always borrowed amps and this is bigger than those).

Thanks

Ash

Hey Ash, I personally haven't had a blast on them myself and I'm sure they would be plenty good enough! Though if it were me I'd be going for the 2x10 for no other reason than personal preference. Though a lot of fellas including myself would ask if you have browsed the for sale section on this very forum as for that sort of money you may be able to get something 'better'. Though you really do have to patient sometimes!

Then in that case I would try and see, if you can get to bass direct to actually check them out all the better, but if you are like myself and have very little in terms of music shop availability youtube and reviews are a great way to gage it. Though just make sure of the returns policy just in case things aren't your thing!

Just my two pence.

If you're in Leeds/York then you could do worse than looking at gear4music. The guys who work at the shop are nice enough, not a patch on Mark at bass direct, but friendly and helpful none the less.

If there's something on the website site you want to try out then it's worth giving them a call to check that they've got it in the shop as a lot of their stock is stored in an off site warehouse, but they can usually get it over to the store for the following day.

As for your choice of Genz Benz contour, I'm a massive fan of all things Genz although I haven't tried the contours. As has already been said, the for sale section on here is a great place to pick up great gear that's been well looked after, and for a good price too.
