HELP PLEASE!! Wiring a "rail" style pickup...

Hi,

I have a Ricky copy (made by Aria in 1976).

I bought it off ebay about a year ago, and someone had previously modded it with a phase-switch and various other switches.

I have just removed them, and I realised that the bridge pickup has two wires coming out of it, both of these wires contain a red, blue, and a naked wire within them.

I tried soldering the ends of the wires and re-wiring like a standard J-pickup...but alas it's not working.

Could someone give me some tips on how to wire this pickup in a standard "volume-tone-jack" configuration??

The pots are standard with 3 terminals.

A photo is here:

I hope that made sense.

Thanks!

This is an example wiring diagram for that type of pickup

The wire colours don't match up, of course, but maybe you could try something based on that ?
