Replacement Pot Squier VM Jag

Recommended Posts

Hi, I need to replace one of the pots shown in the attaced pic. I think it's a 250k/250k stack pot - but the majority of options seem to be 250k/500k. Anyone know where I can get a better quality replacement (the volume knob spins freely right now).

Also - what is that little red thing 2A503J (i'm a complete novice when it comes to electrics). Will I need to move that across?

Many thanks.

The little red thing is a capacitor... without seeing it myself I would guess that the 503 represents (50*[10^3] picofarads) 0.05uF which is pretty close to the 0.047uF caps used in most passive tone control circuits. So yes, you will need those as this is what bleeds the high frequencies to ground to make your tone control work.

You will get a replacement pot from www.allparts.uk.com
