Yeah, the Basslab is very nice! It also sounds very big, probably due to the hollow neck and body construction. I had been very curious about the Basslabs for a while, and when I found this one used I had to have it. I can say one thing for sure, it won't be the last Basslab I'm getting!

You could definitely save some money on the option where you "smuggle" the bass from Sweden to Norway! Another option that not all are aware of is that if you buy equipment from EU the seller/shop can deduct the VAT, and then you pay the norwegian VAT when the equipment arrives.

Guitars are expensive here, but I always import them myself so it's really not a problem

Hi, the split neck on the Basslab is no problem, I bought this one used for two weeks ago, but I'm already used to it. Sorry no recordings of me playing it yet. I have now restrung it and am now tuning it from B - A#. If I was going to use identical sets on the fretted and the fretted (like in the picture) I'd like it to have a few strings more! As for the singlecut I can understand that people are not too keen about the looks of it, but it is one of those basses that has too be seen to appreciate it! (Hmm, I've heard people say this about their girlfriends ... It doesnt look that nice in photos, but if you see it in person or strap it on and its a totally different story. Ergonomically it is the best bass I've ever had and a pleasure to play!

His instruments are very well built (a friend of mine has played over 2000 gigs with his bass without even having to adjust the truss rod) and they play, look and sound as good as everything else I think. Another important matter is how the process of getting a custom made instrument is. When it comes to Chris he always replies to your email within 24 hours and he's very helpful in all matters. He's made ca 10 instruments for me since the early 90ties so I know what I get. A few years ago I stopped playing for 5 years because of some problems with my hands so I sold a few of my basses which I regret now of course, but it's never too late to get some new stuff!

Hi, my name is Freddy, I'm 37 years old and am from Norway. I mainly play different kinds of (hopefully) funky music... My current setup is: 9 string Chris Larkin bass, 6 string Chris Larkin bass, 8 string Basslab bass and a 6 string electric upright Chris Larkin bass. I do also own a Yamaha 415 bass that I hardly use... For amplification I use Hughes and Kettner Quantum Leap 421 combo paired with a House Of Speakers 2*12" + 1*6" cabinet Cheers!
