SOLD - Thank guys.
I've had this Alembic Orion Fretless for the last 6 years.
Lovely tones from the bass itself which go from Jaco to a Double Bass.
It's in great condition and comes with a heavily padded gig bag.
Hope it floats your boat as it has mine!! Priceat £800.
I'm based in Manchester if anyone wants to check it out.
I'm not good with the technical stuff, I just play them, but according to Alembic, the Orion has:
Std 34" scale, a Set neck with 3 maple w/2 walnut veneers. Fingerboard ebony. I think the body is Bubinga.
Pickups MXY4
Controls vol, pan, bass, treble
Tailpiece solid brass, bird
Machine heads Gold Alembic-Gotoh
Regards
Mark

From my experience I try to avoid mixing on headphones as it's a real hit and miss affair. You've got genelecs and I would have thought you'll get miles better results from those.

Hi - I've just set up a MySpace page and posted three tunes a couple of which, Libstar and Song for Ray feature the bass. "Everybody" is more RnB. Would love feedback, ideas etc

Goodfellow Classic - Reduced-SOLD
in Basses For Sale
Posted · Edited by Mego0810
SOLD.
Handmade by Bernie Goodfellow of England. I have owned the bass from new and originally bought it from Bernie at his London workshop around 88/89.
The top is gorgeously figured book matched Bubinga and I believe the body is mahogany with a slice of walnut in between. The bolt-on neck is a five-piece laminate and has a 21-fret, undotted rosewood fretboard with side position markers.
Loads of nice handmade touches such as ebony machine pegs, soffetted bolts and screws, custom made Goodfellow bridge, ebony pick up covers with Thumb Groove indent. It also has two strap pegs on the bottom of the bass so it stands up without the bass contacting the ground.
The electronics Goodfellow used are custom Kent Armstrong humbuckers with the ebony covers and a proprietary Goodfellow 3-way, 18-volt preamp. The five controls are Volume, Pick-up Pan, Bass, Mid and Treble. This makes for a versatile tone pallet from punchy mid heavy finger style, to a tight slap sound and a great rock (Geddy) tone.
The bass comes with a custom Goodfellow Hiscox Liteflite case. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
The Bass Gallery currently has a Goodfellow Classic fretless for £1,200.

Mark
