Change of plan amp and cab wise. The SC is coming along with the recently acquired Tecamp Puma 900. I'm going to use the same rig for both bands.

The Berg is back in the classifieds here.

Change of plan here, too. I lately traded an Eich combo (is Tecamp the predecessor to Eich?) for a Purple Chili rig, head and 2x12. Valve pre and 750w d class power amp. Early indications are v. positive indeed. Weighs nothing, the cab being somewhat lighter than the Super Twin and a lot lighter than the 610.

Swapped amp rigs with Shug for a lovely Eich combo - very happy with the transaction, super communicative and making the effort to detour from his route with the whole band to meet me and swap the gear.

Just a lovely fella, would most def love to deal with him again and do recommend him!

    Ander.

Pleasure to deal with you. I wish we'd had more time to hang out

  4. Bought this on here a couple of years back but it doesn't get used so out it goes.

The reason it doesn't get used is simple: It's too f***ing heavy, man...

One of the original speakers blew so I replaced them both with a pair of Precision Devices 12s I'd had knocking about. Now, these are great speakers but they ain't Kappalites, y'know?

Of course, if you're young and strong like what I once was, that won't bother you. You'll just think, "I love this old skool shit and the way it makes me look and sound like the Rock God I am".

The speakers alone would set you back more than I'm asking and without the top-notch cabinetry. This a real handsome cab and no mistake.

Were I not such a pussy I'd put some wheels on it (75mm castors with locks dead cheap on Ebay), buy it a nice wee jacket from Roqsolid or similar, pair it with any decent head and be ready to roll. But, sadly, I'm old and feeble so here we are.

I've got good at packaging lately so will despatch to anywhere in the UK at your cost and risk.

It measures about 2' x2'x16''. It's original weight was about 60lbs so probably about 70 lbs or so now with the new drivers.

Good overall condition. Couple nicks on the Tolex barely visible and no damage to the grill cloth.

These cabs are still in production and a quick Google shows the cheapest new to be £745 at Bax and they don't have one in stock. That price is with the standard drivers, of course, rather than the cut-above ones you'd get with this cab.

    Any questions feel free.

    Thanks for looking.

Ahh no, SC staying home that weekend. I'm planning to use the Bergantino with two ONE10's, as I can use just one of the cabs for my quieter gig on the Friday at Holmes Mill. Sorry Shug.
I know you love a big rig, I'm not sure a single SC would cut the mustard for you.

You know we too well, Rob.

There's a BF 210 for sale at the minute and only in Harrogate. That'd do me for small gigs, I'm guessing AND I could use it with the 610 for max Roosteresque overkill. Alas, I have no cash...

I'll look forward to  hearing the Bergantino, mind.

All all your RVJF gigs on bass? Have you forsaken the guitar altogether?

Is anyone from here playing over the weekend?

I'm not sure how I have managed it, but I have three gigs at the festival this year. Friday night at Holmes Mill with Katoush (instrumental jazz). Then two on Sunday, 2.00pm Aspinall Arms and 7.00pm Rose & Crown with The Out & Out Blues Band.

I do know that @shug is at the Rose & Crown on Sunday evening because he's on after us.

We've decided to make a weekend of it, so we're staying Friday to Monday in Clitheroe.

    Rob

I've got a couple, too. As mentioned, Sunday evening at the Rose and Crown with The Merkins and Monday about 4 at the Aspimall Arms with the Cheating Hearts. What rig will you be using at the RnC @ossyrocks? I'd be interested in hearing that SC. I'll be using the 610 and GK RB400 in all likelyhood.

  7. C'mon, Guys. No love for this stone-cold classic piece of loveliness?

Did a small theatre show last night - Dylan tribute so not mega loud but not a chamber orchestra either. Master on 9 for max power amp valviness, gain on about 4, eq flat-ish (who knows where flat is on these?) sounded beautiful.

Runs quiet as a mouse - no pops, crackles, buzzes etc. Looks gorgeous, too...

Less than 2' wide so it'll sit on a whole lot of even quite modest cabs nicely. Only weighs 33 lbs, so not a big carry by any means. Don't know why I'm selling it, really, but my loss could for sure be your gain.

Look, I know times is tough, so my best offer to you would be £450. That's £3 a watt - a Leo Fender, made in California, 1970's watt, mind, not your dodgy think-of-a-number-and-double-it digi-watt.

You know you want it. You deserve it, frankly. You'll not see another, either, chances are. A genuine, fully funktional, cool as fck, real-world usable vintage classic that won't cost a fortune in maintenance, won't be moody and unreliable, won't break your back or your bank and will, I'd bet money, appreciate in value.

I've got a couple of nice cabs coming up that would suit this ol' gal down to the ground and I'd cut a real special deal on one with this amp.

Be quick before I sober up and change my mind.

Shug, you have often chided me, over many years, on my amps/gear/guitars obsessions, but here you are, quietly revealing that you are just as bad as the rest of us, with a ton of lovely vintage and high end gear, that i had absolutely no idea that you had, because you've been keeping it quiet all this time! If you want to talk, you know where I am.

    Hope to see you soon,

    Rob (& Jan)

    Ha! Y'ain't wrong.

More to come, too, ancient and modern. Got a lovely 72/3 Traynor Custom Special head, all present and correct, an early series Demeter pre amp, a big ol' Aguilar 412, an Ampeg 212 (Great, heavy as, though), coupla old school power amps, maybe a couple of pre-amp pedals. Probably more...

    How you liking that Bergantino?

    Love to you and Jan

  10. Bought these earlier this month. Put em on me Jazz but find I don't like em any more.

Used for one gig only but I've put the Labellas back on.

Used to be my regular strings before I changed to flats.

    Gauges are 50, 70,85 and 105.

£52.99 at Strings Direct. Yours for £20 collected or I'll stick em in a Jiffy bag and post to UK for £25.

    Cheers
