  1. I've not had good experience of parcel farce, I must admit, while they've not lost my parcel.

The usual claim 'we delivered/you were out' crap. Hmm I think not, there was someone in all day waiting for a parcel.

after a few phone calls the tracking suddenly changed, and they admitted they'd dropped it off at a local post office. Went to collect a vinyl record and the doddery person there was about to bend the vinyl just to get it through the counter hatch.   Never again, much prefer couriers theses days, but then I appreciate, nothing is without fault, but so far been OK.

  2. Generally speaking the photographer, owns the copyright, however its not always that simple, they may have been made to sign a contract, and the festival may own the copyright, I'm speaking from experience here as I've been reviewing and shooting bands recently in another role, and there have been occasions where Ive had a contract thrust into my hands before i'm allowed into 'the pit'.

Sometimes its easiest to walk away as others have suggested, but it may be worth approaching the festival organisers and asking why your pic was chosen as you're not on this years bill, it can go either way but they may have an alternative they can use. Its got to be worth a shout and pointing out you're not on the bill, may just swing it.

I had this exact situation arise a couple of years and, after a brief flirt with a couple of options, settled on a Phil Jones Double Four. Utterly fantastic sounding piece of kit - and I play 5ers pretty much exclusively so the sound of those lowest notes was key to me. It handles my B string with ease (I even run octavers and synth sounds through it) yet it’s the size of a shoebox. Proper, full bass sound.

No idea how Phil Jones have managed such a feat. In my opinion it’s the best truly small amp on the market if practise and small jams are your primary concern. It’ll happily fit on/under a desk, on a chest of drawers, under a bed - pretty much anywhere. Just don’t expect to be doing serious gigs with it as it does have a limit.

As a side note, it doesn’t have any overdrive or other effects on board (since you say you’ll use it for guitar too) so you’ll need to plug pedals in if you want that kind of thing.

I'd second Phil Jones amps too, I have a bass cub, a tiny amp, but with a huge sound.  I recently tried a microbass a few days ago, a great little amp too, but defiantly a thumbs up for Phil Jones, how he does it, i don't know.

    Couple of things:

    * On some forums 'completed' info request threads are closed either at the OP's request or as a matter of course. On some other forums OP's are required to request such a closure on pain of a bollocking. The OP in this thread is a light BC user and may simply be unaware that we don't do it like that here. I don't think anything sinister should be inferred from his request.

    * Historically we've taken the view that publicising specific details of an ongoing dispute with a retailer can sometimes be counter-productive to a successful resolution. The OP should not (and cannot) be compelled to rehearse his woes here unless he wants to.

    * Now can everyone dial it the f*ck back. I'm boiling some eggs for tea, I like them runny and I don't want to take my eye off the timer :)

Thank you, I didn't know that's how it worked, i've only recently returned. As you also state historically we've taken the view....., and thats the exact one I've taken and feel I've been berated for it. As far as i'm concerned the issue is closed on here from my own perspective.
