  1. My top side/case audio panel does not work for recording only. The audio jack works on my headset (properly overrides the SB card), but the mic jack does NOT work for recording, on either a standalone mic or on the headset... here is more info and troubleshooting I have done: First my hardware and software: - Case (Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS) - MB (Abit IP35 Pro) (Software/drivers installed) - CPU (Intel 3.16 Ghz) - Sound card (SB Audigy ZS Platinum) - Windows XP Pro SP3 - PC is clean of all malware and all updates are current - I have tried both of the plugs into my MB, the AC97 and the Digital... - Of course all sound options have been selected and set to the Realtek choices.... even there, I have tried the "HD Digital Input" AND the "HD Audio Input" and recording/audio volumes are all at least 90% high setting - Recording DOES work when I plug it into my SB card in the back, so my recording hardware is fine - When I plug in the mic into the recorder jack, Realtek software DOES recognize something having been plugged in, and I select "Mic" in the choice menu - When I try to run a hardware test in Windows Sound Hardware Tester, it never detects the mic after it is plugged in there, so the mic cannot even be tested Thanks guys and let me know if u need any more info……
  2. Here's my setup: - Pioneer AVIC-D3 deck - 6.5" Alpine Type-R components up front (SPR-17S) - Alpine 5.25" Type-R speakers in the rear (SPR-13C) I am leaning against running a sub, so I want to make sure that my speakers are properly powered. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I want the speakers to be run to their full potential or close to it for a reasonable price. Not just running off the deck. To me, a lot of 4 channel amps seem the same or very similar - I'm just looking to max out my setup without going to a sub setup. I'll probably pick something up on eBay or Craigslist in new or lightly used condition. Alpine, JL Audio, etc. preferred. Suggestions appreciated!
  3. Presently we are recording using the line-outs from the mixer. It does a great job for the sermon but the recording mix of the Music is never going to match the live mix. Without going to the expense of a multi-track recorder etc. etc.,,,I would like to experiment with dual stereo mic's in the house. 1) Which Mic's? Cheaper the better, I'm thinking a pair of condensers. Maybe Dayton EMM-6's 2) Where to mount the Mic's? I'm thinking center rear wall with maybe a 24"x24" foam panel behind the mic's and a foam divider between the mic's to keep some stereo separation? 3) Would there be too much ambient noise or other problems? Any suggestions of other ways to mic (record) live music?
