  1. A while ago there was a PB supposedly owned by Paul Simonon for sale on ebay.
The seller had the usual " i was owed some money and was given the bass as payment " story.
The bass was heavily "relic'd" with chips digs and spray paint..
Me ((name drop time) having been friends of pauls brother for some 40 yrs , showed him the link
and asked if he thought it was authentic .
He said " naaa , my brother never looked after basses that well" ..............lol a classic !

  2. I am so glad there is only one of these in the world....It looks a bit 80s eastern block influenced...

Note the string reminders on the headstock ...If the owner couldn't remember EADG, what chance did he have of learning the fingerboard..

  3. By the way , me being an old boy i remember this well ..
I wonder how many of the younger generation that hear Stevie wonder songs on the radio like Living in the city , Superstition , realise that that fat synth sound was down to an englishman ...

  4. Bigredex im totally depressed...
Yes its true , i paid the grand sum of £10 for the ms20 with " patch cards" at " churches 2 gether " in chislehurst .... Few yrs ago now but certainly was in the last 10 yrs.. I jogged it on to a piano restorer that was in the workshop next to mine ... I will try to look him up and see what happened to it ....

I never kept it as i couldnt see the point as it had no midi socket and i was in to programming drum tracks via sequencing software ... Also the only sounds i managed to get out of it were Dr who sound effects -:) ..

    £1000 eh .... -:(

  5. I bought a 70s korg synth in a charity shop for £10 a few yrs ago .. It looked like the early moog, 2 octaves with an upstanding back with knobs and a load of little holes with plugs you could put in different orders.. It even had orignal cards to put over the holes with patterns of where to put the plugs .. I managed to get a sound out of it but thought it pointless so got my money back by flogging it on......

Just my luck and a few yrs on and all the old analouge stuff becomes sought after ... Saw same one selling for silly money ........

Edit... I just looked it up and it was a korg ms 20

  6. I have only been on the bass for a few years and no way do i consider myself a 'bass player' but i have been behind the drums since I was 12 and I am 54 now..
I studied as a teenager and have played many styles including orchestral percussion, big band , rock, funk etc but have always concentrated on what i was bought up with ..Jazz ..
