Up for sale is my original custom colour 1973/4 black Jazz Bass with a new Fender hard shell case.

It looks and sounds terrific.

Has a few blemishes, dinks, dongs, scratches etc….most notably a worn patch on the rear body next to which is a circular area where no doubt a sticker once resided which has affected the finish (see my photo which makes it looks far worse than it is)

Plenty of life in the frets and a nice low action.

Feel free to inspect with no obligation.

Hi All,

1983 Fender Jazz Bass with non original hard case, with a few changes to make it look more of a vintage model.

Looks and sounds fantastic, though, helped by the installation of new electrics including EMG pickups (see pics), so routed for a battery.

1983 was a transitional year for the Jazz and this model would not have had ashtrays, a thumb rest, a chrome plate, so new holes to accommodate those add-ons, plus holes to add tort guard.

Plenty of life in the frets.

Happy to consider trades.

Up for sale is my 1966 Fender Precision Bass with its original tolex case.  As it left the factory.

It is in terrific condition with a few dings and dongs, some finish checking - playing with a low action all the way up the neck.

Lightweight at 8.8lbs.

Up for sale is my 1961 slab board Fender Precision Bass with its OHSC.

I have owned a number of P basses stretching over its long years of production and in my opinion, this period are the finest.

Overall, it is in great condition with the dinks, dongs, scratches, playwear etc etc you might expect.   The sunburst is still really vibrant and it plays with a low action all the way up the neck.

There are a couple of very small areas on the body rear which have been rather crudely touched up and the rear of the neck has possibly been re-finished, it is difficult to tell but let's assume yes.

The rest of the bass is stock with neck date 10-61, pot dates 35th week of 61 and body pencil date May 61. 

The original case is in terrific condition.

Up for sale is my Fender Bass VI in its original sunburst finish, assembled in 1965.

Overall, the VI is in terrific condition with just a few dings and dongs and some signs of buckle wear on the body rear.  It plays and sounds fantastic.

The neck dates to late '63, pots to late '64 and the serial number to '65 (L63999).  The VI was assembled to order and was not popular at the time and so this range of dates is not unusual for this model.

(For example, there is one on Andy Baxter's website at the moment with similar ranges)

Many thanks, three - that is basically it.

A guitar / bass collector will be interested in the degree of originality and wear of the instrument based on its age and / or rarity.  

A very rare instrument can still be collector grade even though it has some play wear and a couple of changes (although not, perhaps, if the changes are irreversible).  

As the Jazz is from 1971, and therefore at the very edge of 'vintage', I would expect 100% originality (ie. parts intact as though it had just left the factory) and practically no wear to speak of (e.g EXF and above).

Leaving aside the nomenclature, this is an exceptional example. 

Up for sale is my collector grade 1971 Fender Jazz Bass with its OHSC - apart from one or two very minor dinks, it is in practically unplayed condition.
