He put the nut back on and new strings and I noticed he'd done some filing in the grooves on the nut. There is no buzzing apart from on 4th fret d string. I suppose only certain gauge strings will fit into the grooves on the nut because the ones i've got on at the moment go on fine but the ones I recently tried just would not fit into the grooves. I've never had problems with different string gauges on other basses!

Hi I own a trace elliot t bass. Just wondering what the general opinion of these basses are and how much they generally go for on the market. I bought mine from new back in 1996. Its the one designed by status with the ergonomic headstock.

can anyone help me? I have a trace elliot t bass guitar. Not so long ago when I was changing the strings the nut fell off! I got i glued it back on but since then I have had problems putting new strings on (they don't seem to fit into the grooves on the nut). I am not very technically minded as you might have assumed. Do you think it would be worth taking it to a specialist?
