  2. £425 - price drop New and unused Ebony C extension unit for a double bass ready to be fitted by a luthier and is ready to be shaped to a bass. Lovely ebony and lovely strong big clips for ease of use. To fit this extension you will need: 1. Atleast 12mm thickness of ebony at the top of the ebony fingerboard on the bassside (where the note F can be found). 2. Thiscannot be fitted if the front of yourscroll sits forward of the neck projection line. 3. Theneck projection line is the line where the maple neck and the ebony fingerboardmeet on the side of the neck. Project this line up over the peg box to thescroll. If your scroll sits forward of this then this extension CANNOT befitted. 4. Themaximum (or standard) scroll height for this extension if the front of yourscroll sits on the neck projection line is 245mm 5. Forevery 5mm that the front of your scroll sits back (minus) from the neckprojection line, the maximum scroll height is increases by 5mm (inversely theminimum height decreases by 5 mm) 6. 3. Two basic student bows for beginners, both made in Seoul, one at 115 grams the other at 127.4 grams. Hair hasn’t been used (except just to test the bows). Ideal for beginners as they are light and good for a student developing their hand strength. Happy to post anywhere or do a deal for the both. £65 each. (Excluding postage) happy bassing.
  4. Piece of seasoned (20 years) ebony tonewood lumber for double bass fingerboard / ebony components. Dimensions: length 100.5 cm Width 12.3 cm height 3.6 cm Aimed at 5 string basses or for fitting modern c string extensions that require thicker ebony boards. Equally can be cut for an 4 string too. Always good to have too much that can be slimmed down as you can’t add it back on easily! This is obviously unshaped and needs to be fitted by a luthier and is not a pre manufactured part that you hope will fit your instrument. This is deliberately oversized to be shaped to your instrument. make me an offer. Happy to ship worldwide at the buyers expense.
  5. Unused double bass bow frogs. nickel silver mounted with inlays. Frog and screw included. 10 available. looking for £15 each X8 all the same design x1 with no inlay on the side x1 with inlay on side but slightly different design to the other 8. looking to get sold as soon as possible as I don’t need them anymore.
  6. Lovely unused extension block with ‘proper’ clips ready to be fitted to any bass by a luthier. intended to be fitted to my bass but finances have stopped this so this is now for sale.
  7. This lovely pernambuco stick is a wonderfully curved, light and articulate ideal for professionals, musical theatre, local amateur or students. Being pernambuco the bow is light and responsive and has a particularly crisp sound with new fresh white hair with nickel silver mounts. The bow is light work thanks to only being 131g grams which makes playing Mozart 40 much easier and doesn’t tire the hand! The light weight plus the curve means it’s easy to get good attack at the tip. This bow is really incredible for its money, the stick bounces and has a clear voice. Valued higher than listed by Glen titmus. Quick sale wanted hence being listed lower than market value, (need to pay credit card bill).

  9. Thanks for your message. I guess it is a type of basil wood as I wasn’t aware that there were different types. I have another Brazil wood bow and this bow is much much different in grain to the other and in weight. The other bow is confirmed as brasilwood as I know who made it, I’m just shocked there’s such a difference despite being the ‘same’ if there are any other woods anyone can think of please let me know! cheers all
  10. Hi, I wondered if anyone could confirm the wood that my bow is made from. I don't think it is brazilwood as it is too light weight, is it pernambuco or is it something else? Thank you in advance! Steve
