    How do?

Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for a while but haven't posted much on it as yet. However, thought the time had come to say hello to everyone! I've been playing bass for about 10 years, my baby being a stage II Streamer that I treated myself to having passed my tax exams (don't kill me - I don't work for Revenue & Customs!). I'm now deciding whether to buy a nice new amp, or update my pedalboard a bit. However, neither are immediate priorities as I have to fit all of my junk into a big lorry to move down to Bath. I'm into all sorts of music really, but my pash is blues/rock stuff like Cream, Zep, Humble Pie, AC/DC etc etc. So that's me! Cheers Fred
  2. I have to say that I really enjoyed that performance, although as some people have mentioned I think that if I had to sit through a whole gig in that style it might start to grind a bit. I thought the chap's bass tone was very nice - was that quite a lot of compression? +1 for the Ronnie Wood reference as well - I was sure it was him until I saw the teeth!
  3. Hey all. Not sure that this is in the right place but here goes anyway. I'm in the process of moving to Bath/Bristol from London and wondered what the music scene was like and whether it's easy to meet people to jam with? I have a 9-5 and so I would like to just arse around with some friendly types playing blues/rock/funk/jazz before getting zoidered up. I haven't been in a band for ages as have been studying for professional qualifications since I came to London, but I went to Uni in Bath and so know it fairly well. Please ease my mind about moving away from the (admittedly grubby) bright lights. Anyone experienced this kind of thing? Waddya reckon? Fred
